The effort was fine - we bring that against Adelaide and we win - it shows you can’t be conditional with effort - the vinegar and salt for last nights result was washed away by going to the Sunnyboys gig at at Corner Hotel - but this still hurts a lot.

Such little cohesion between small/medium/tall defenders. So often sending too many up (and still not bringing the ball to ground). When it comes to the opposition ball carrier, so often sending too many players in to tackle leaving the easy handball outside to space.

Gutted. They might need to review the words to the song.

We were never going to do much damage in finals, but what we needed from finals is the experience. The last 2 weeks are effectively elimination finals, the boys will learn that actions and more importantly non actions have consequences.

Our backline looks like it has been patched together (which it has all season) and sometimes the structures fall apart. Voss needs another preseason with this group now understanding the strength and weaknesses of each player.

Our forward line connection has been poor all year and it has been the brilliance and talent of Harry and Charlie that has got us over the line. We are only running at 50% of what we are capable of scoring. Same thing happened at Geelong when Cameron first arrived, look how well they work together this year, no reason we can’t do the same next year.

Voss has been the most impressive first year coach for a long time, forget McRae he has taken over a very experienced and mature side with well drilled defensive skills. We are finally on the right track and I just pray the Voss gets a better run with injuries next year to show what he can really do

Couldn't be happier with effort and we were severly undermanned. Bit of poise late and we win.

Some massive positives going forward

Docherty into centre bounces helped
McGovern showed his class
Martin showed his ability and it all started with effort on first quarter
I liked when Durdin went up the ground
Setterfield back in the middle playing the role he got drafted for. Very good. Walsh needs to play wing so Setterfield can do the grunt work
Young was very good and Saad was a warrior
Cottrell looking better on a wing and did well on Langdon

Gutted to lose but after a good nights sleep I see many positive things moving forward. Bring that effort we can beat the Pies

Still a disaster result but when pic king up the pieces from the season you can say it has been a positive experience considering the side has very rarely been settled

The first thing I thought when I woke up this morning was "did that really happen? "

The morning after, I don't feel any better. One of the more shattering losses.

This one really hurts.

If it was say Round 10 it'd hurt, but we'd move on and have plenty more games to look forward to.

Now it's season on a knife edge stuff.

add me too the list ... possible the worst night sleep ever ...

kept playing the game over in my head ... cant imagine what the players are going through ...

that was a tough one .. but its a waste, if we dont go at it the same next week ... thats our challenge now .. and that is no easy task. ive long said the ability to keep going week in week out is the difference between good sides and average sides.

lets hope we are a good side. feel like if we can get over the "hurdle" and get in, we could do anything ...

I can't get over how we allowed Melksham to take that mark.

Melbourne trained the last two mins if behind after blowing it against Collingwood. Open up the corridor, Levers hook kick in board to a 3 on 1, deep entries and count on chaos. We were well structured down the line but left the middle open. Even so several key errors by us. Pundits singling out Owies grassed kick to Saad, bit unfairly.

Can’t remember feeling worse after a loss. Didn’t sleep. Still feel shit this
morning.

Hope the boys bounce back better than me, soft cock

Tough loss, but then I woke up and thought, I could be a Manchester United supporter.
