Apparently it took 4.5hrs to legally prove that Cripps is, in fact, Trent Cotchin…

By the way, Jeff Gleeson, chairman of the tribunal who applied the law wrongly, allowing the argument which got Cripps off, is a Queens Counsel.

Wouldn't be paying the $5000 plus a day or what ever it is for his advice.

Its an easy job for him representing the same organisation who runs this Kangaroo Court.

Ofcourse he takes this job given he's got a win on the board every time he steps in...not unless somebody appeals and he has to work for his money.

I dont like him one bit. Bias. Carlton Hater.

At least you admit it.

But did you think Cripps was guilty as opposed to not wanting to Appeal in a corrupted AFL court? or the otherway around?

Exactly the point being made here on TC.

Cripps shoulds, coulda ... then pigs could fly

Collingwood supporter.

He should disclose that every time he makes a report, or when he's stuttering and dribling.

Thought he would get 2 and perhaps should have for the act given the present interpretation of the rules and what isn’t permissible but tribunal must act within certain rules in making determination didnt so here we are simply as that

I heard "expert" commentator David Schwarz on 3AW this morning. Apparently Cripps shouldn't have impacted the opposition player while he was going for "the mark"

That one pissed me off more than Cripps to be honest.
It was a legitimate and fair tackle made "dangerous" because the tackled player threw his free arm out to draw the umpire's attention rather than using it to brace his fall.

You've got no idea what Ah Chee was going to do when the ball was punched in the air for anyone to catch it if they got their first. Cripps didnt either.

Neverthelss,

If you BOTH agree Cripps is guilty, tell me what would you have expected Cripps to do differently? I'm curious. AFL haven't told us what he should have done.

I see you've had a go at a few TC posters like this.

I don't think Cripps is guilty of anything than jumping higher and harder than a smaller opponent.
I don't think Cripps hit Ah Chee's head with any meaningful force and reckon that the concussion occurred when Ah Chee landed on his bonce.
I don't think Cripps had time to change his attack on the ball, nor should he when the ball was legitimately in dispute.
I do think the AFL is pissing its pants over potential legal action over CTE and therefore any incident where a player is concussed is a lottery.
I didn't expect Cripps to get off at the Tribunal because the AFL's superpower is manufacturing outcomes to protect and/or benefit itself.

I'm happy that the appeal was successful because I honestly believe that Cripps being free to play is the correct outcome. There wasn't even a free kick paid!

Did he seriously have a negative jumper number?

Perspective?

There's the Real world and The AFL World Frank.

On footy sites I'm referencing footy business.

From what I've seen of Gleeson over the last 3-4 years in the AFL Tribunal setting, and in particular his last performance where he didn't bring his best ethical effort, and content to make up stories like "Classic Bump", and not allowing proper due process to take place...well he got found out.

The appeals board found the findings of the tribunal jury were unreasonable due to a failure to afford procedural fairness which resulted in an error of law.

I dont want people like that in the AFL Tribunal.

The saltiness of opposition supporters today is delicious.

I haven’t been abused this hard since the last time we were good

Will the AFL appeal ? Thats the line with the media now. Of course they will, and the case will go into 2am in the morning.

As Carlton people, we need to expect this.

If you watch the video he was concussed when head hit the ground this could happen at anytime during a game

Took them 4.5 hours to debate something that the AFL argued Cripps should've averted in 4.5 milliseconds.
