It wasn't a marking contest

But anyway IMO it doesn't need to be a marking contest for it to be a contest

Same as the bullshit about leaving the ground.
Jumping at a ball that's in the air is still allowed in the rules no?

That was mentioned to me before and yet I still said it again. Thanks CK.

....he was going to catch the ball and wanted to protect the space where the ball was landing and this midget came in from the side.... footy accident.

Michael Christian says "NO, especially if you're in a Navy Blue outfit!"

It looks like a marking contest to me, two players trying to catch a ball.
One as a chest mark front on, the other hands out coming in from the side.
He did NOT charge the player as it first looked like, but concussion will be the only hurdle in this argument.

On one hand you have Michael Christian the Collingwood man.
However on the other hand the AFL would want Carlton playing finals.
Barry Hall got off in 2005 so you never know.....

Yeah it does. But I'm pretty sure if you rewind, it was punched into the air from a Lions player, not kicked.

Anyway, agree with the comments above. It's a footy contest while the ball was in the air. It happens.

But he won't get cleared.

Due to us challenging Cripps will now get three weeks and miss our first final for his career, which we will lose.

Sort of. But players are entitled to vigourously compete for the ball in the air, marking contest or not.

Pretty sure I saw Gov take a speccy on the weekend, except it was actually a handball receive

The incident is fairly innocuous, just a bad outcome. I would be surprised though if it was overturned or reduced.

I agree totally. Except I dont know why you dont think the penalty wont be overcome given that dumb little Che bugger ran in front of Crippa and got hurt in the process. The outcome is obviously going to be the case for anyone, any size, and this midget just spoilt everything.

All we keep hearing is that he jumped off the ground and when you do that you're in trouble.

Ah chee also jumped off the ground. What is the point here?
2 players in mid air collide. Both eyes for the ball.

The 2 weeks will stand but surely it's a football incident

They have upheld the Tim Kelly Charge, so just a matter of time b4 the do the same to Cripps.....

This MRP rubbish is inconsistent, corrupt and seriously in general a waste of time....

Gr8 Question. Given the corruptness of the AFL MRP, it really depends on what team you play for.... It it was a Carlton player, 3 weeks no question!
