One big thing I’ll be looking for is deep entries into our forward line. That will be a good indicator of how we’re going.
Of course, ideally hitting our forwards on a lead but in any event deep entries gives us a good scoring opportunity.

We must not go vanilla with the mid replacements. JSOS, Durdin, Fisher, and last chance saloon Setterfield. (vanilla yes but he was good in that one year).

I genuinely don't think we're gonna see players playing in positions they've not spent any time in at either AFL or VFL level. So those people wanting Stocker in the guts will probably be disappointed.

That being said, they did toss things around a bit on the weekend - Young in the ruck, Silvagni on the wing and at full back, etc.

Whether Cripps misses or not, the big questions are:

Do you play two rucks?
Do you risk Martin, knowing he's always a chance of not making it through the game?
Do you persist with Setterfield?
Does the backline have enough run with the current mix?

Kemp has played midfield in the vfl this year, just sayin….

Two rucks: no, I'd normally say yes but want to continue the Young experiment. TDK "managed".
Martin: yes, gotta take the gamble
Setterfield: yes, inside mid by default
Enough run?: uh... dunno. Stocker and/or Plow in if more run needed

Marchbank is the best bet for Fritsch IMO.
Pitto is a definite. No to Charlie or Saad to the midfield. We have 2 players in serious AA contention and we want to take them away from where they're dominating.
Move players who are struggling for form, not those who are starring in their current positions.
As I said earlier in the week, I'd get JSOS to tag Oliver and let Dow, Walsh, Cerra and Fish tag the other 2 midfield spots with Durdin having a small run to mix it up.

If the weather is shit, I'd rest TDK. Weiters can take Ben Brown (if he's selected) and I doubt they'll bring in another tall forward. Young can play forward rotating second ruck.

A team where it's midfield is sitting in sick Bay and they drop 2 midfielders

Interesting

Cripps still named

5 games ... in a very ordinary team.

...and he wasn't that good, but good for a guy coming off an ACL. Lets remember that. Ask keogh.

He looks like he's playing with an ACL ever since his first year with us.

On the one hand, I’m baffled.
On the other hand, it makes me excited to think that with those changes, we must have an innovative plan in place!

( I assume one of Dow or Settlefield come in for Cripps…)

Ah of course, Crippa still on the teamsheet. I guess either Dow or Setters will soon be back in.

I was thinking along those lines as well .....
but this week's midfield was chosen using this true and trusted method

What the ? We are missing Hewitt and Kennedy and more than likely Cripps.
And we dump the next 2 clearance midfielders.
Stocker hasn’t played in 2 weeks gee I hope we find a way but will be hard with Pittonet stocker and marchbank all a bit under done.

I wouldn't be advocating it for next week for the reasons you've pointed out, but I also don't see us winning this game by Charlie and McKay dominating Lever and May either.

Plenty to be taken from Collingwood's nullifying of them last week.
