C’mon be objective
It’s not a fair award
I love Cripps and I’m happy for him to have the silverware for the effort and loyalty he puts in because of the way he plays but the Brownlow is such a bullshit award because it’s so biased towards mids
As I said it needs changing

Ok Keogh, explain how Saad was given three votes for BOG if a HBF never gets votes?

Stop being biased
Did you watch the Crows Blues game
Sometimes you watch a game
It’s hard to pick who is best on the ground
Not round 20
Smith played a blinder
So did Saad in that game
But to give Cripps 3 votes and Smith 1 is a no brainer
Obvious
Absolutely ridiculous
Which is why the Brownlow is ridiculous
Happy if they pay the umps extra to watch the game Monday or Tuesday then cast their votes
It would give the award more credibility

Saad was absolutely terrible in that game!!!! Piss off troll.

Here is a message for you
I assume from your name your around 36
You know jack shit
When he didn’t know the camera was on him Vossy’s expression was like he had just lost is mum.
Cook looked bored out of his brain when the camera panned to their table when Crippsy was announced the winner
Whether it’s experience or age you eventually get what ITS about
I don’t think you do
Troll isn’t the right word
Realistic man yes
70% of communication between adults is body language
Voss and Cook’s body language said it all when Cripps was announced the winner
Where not here for this
Good on him but it’s about team
I hope they get flogged over summer

I may not be as old as you and not know "jack shit", but I do know one thing - I'm glad I'm not as bitter and grumpy as you are.

Yeah , and Brad Hardie won the Brownlow playing that similar running halfback Saad plays . But dare i say it , and in all due respect to Adem , Hardie was twice the player that Saad is at the very least . Incredible player was Hardie and fully deserved his Brownlow .

Anyhow , the way footy is played these days half your side is a midfielder or de facto midfielder so due to the weight of numbers its no surprise the midfielders get up . Really , its a 50/50 bet .

Sure, Hardie was a bit overweight by today's standards, but he wasn't twice as big as Saady.

I’m still so happy for Crippa. Thoroughly deserved.
Hopefully a premiership and norm smith or 3 to follow.

Love the fact in this pic that Voss' hand is on Walsh shoulder.
When Sammy wins his Brownlow next year that will make 3 in a row Voss has guided and he shall be known as the Charlie whisperer.

Oh, if ya could get em to play in September that would be good too !!

All congrats to Paddy, such a deserving winner and class act on and off the field.

Wanganeen Back Pocket won a Brownlow which was really Diesel's but for crooked umpire Russo not giving Diesel one vote for his 50 possession game in the last round.

the thing is, Brisbane winning all those brownlows - Acker, Black, Voss... really messed with their finals record....

Quote:
Deacon and Collis earned their Brownlows off centre half-back in their respective seasons, and James off a half-back flank, but Williams, Judd and Cripps accumulated their votes in midfield – and it’s definitely a midfielders’ medal, as in the past 64 years only five defenders have won Brownlows. There was Gavin Wanganeen in a back pocket for Essendon* in 1993; Brad Hardie in a back pocket for Footscray in 1985; Ross Glendinning at centre half-back for North Melbourne in 1983, Gordon Collis as Carlton’s resident centre half-back in 1964 and Neil Roberts in that same position for St Kilda in 1958.

Midfielders deserve the votes they get.

Think of how many great midfielders run out every week, and of them look at how few win the Medal.

To be a great midfielder you have to not only have superior fitness to other players but also skills by hand and foot, and contesting and winning contested ball more than other position. They do much more great work than others. The good mids contest, defend and kick goals. This year Crippa kicked 20 goals, playing as a mid and ruck. Simple.

Cripps deserved his Medal. He is respected by everyone in the comp. Anyone who doesnt think he deserves the medal, as a PM once said, "is a bum".
