starts with them mentioning that teams had roughed them up in 93 and 94 in finals to stop their game, sound familiar blue baggers?!

so they went in the underdogs in 95. i’d forgotten that they weren’t the favorites in spite of only two losses (which rumour i. the outer had it that they back themselves at long odds to lose! but i doubt it because i heard from SOS’s wife’s bestie of the time that every week they thought they would lose once they had won a few on the trot, couldn’t believe they kept winning games in a row) . i was pretty confident for the GF but also scarred deeply from past finals losses.

hanna and kouta in their prime on the wings. geez how good would that be today? :-)

Kouta and Hanna on the wings

Kouta a 190cm Adonis, and Hanna 186cm strongest man at the club, and both could run, jump and hit hard ... and they could take a punch too.

I'm not even going to try and compare them with our 4 wings this year. Its too embarrassing.

agreed.

and kouta says GW the best player he’d ever seen/played with or against. i agrée. his ability to read the game and impact he contest and architect the play was ahead of his time. they all elite mods modelled themselves on that from that time onwards.
