Maybe that's why we're holding Pitto back another week. Don't want him lined up and his knee crashed into again

Good team - Setters played well in VFL last week (best afield I thought).. Good to see Mc G and Dow possibly.
Didn't think we really had no injuries....

Would prefer Gibbons to Motlop at this point but let's go with potential.
Gibbons?

Confused the hell out of me, I was about to check our website until I read your comment.

I reckon.
The only danger is the ins, as they are probably getting tested to see if they belong beyond this year.
Who is out of contract at the end of season?

If Cottrell and Newnes make the team with players such as Fisher, Stocker, Setterfield, Dow and Plowman on the bench, then I give up.
As for McGovern being bought back in after 1 game - no wonder he takes the p1ss....

My guess for the bench will be:
Cotts, Dow, Fisher and Plowman
Fogarty as emergency.

What's your lineup with everyone available?

B: Boyd Young McGovern

That’s a pretty good team on paper. I don’t think anyone would dispute that’s the spine we want. The discussion points for me are:
* BP. Boyd or Stocker or Williams? I would have Williams ahead (just), but Boyd showed promise before his injury and I like Stocker’s touch of mongrel.
* Wings. Has Williams ever played on a wing for us? LOB has improved but is he good enough? We talk about our need for another tall defender and a ruck, but these ‘best 22’ teams always show me that we are short a quality winger (or two).
* 7th defender (off the bench). Is Marchbank the right fit for that role? I think I would move Williams to defence and have one of Boyd, Newman or Stocker as the 7th defender. The remaining two from that troika could be considered for a wing. Marchbank is another possible option for the wing (he played some games there during the Bolton years). Alternatively, play Martin (HF) and put Fisher on the wing? Or Cottrell on a wing and have Marchbank/Martin as sub? I keep coming back to the wings because I feel like the rest of the puzzle will resolve itself once we find those missing pieces…

Let’s hope our players aren’t going in with that mindset. We should win, but GWS are the kind to roll us if we get ahead of ourselves.

Respect the opposition and get to work Blues!

Hopefully we go in like the first quarter against WC but this time we capitalise better. There is a huge opportunity here to really put the shoes into an opposition and boost our %. This GWS team is thin on experience.

Last roll of the dice for Dow?

if Dow doesn't get a game with Hewett out then put a line through him.
He might not be knocking the door down in 2's but he's knocking pretty hard.

If you watch Cerra closely he's no star yet.....

BTW, I'll be on level 2, section 47 if anyone wants to wave in my general direction.

Fair points. What I like is we are starting to develop realistic options for many roles

I really like Boyd as a BP but he still needs to prove himself. Williams needs to stay fit and I'v ehad my say about Stocker. IMO not a defender
Wings is a major issue. If LOB or Setterfield or Hayes or Williams or Cottrell step up we will be good but none have nailed it yet. Marchbank is another option
The other one I think could be a very good wingman is Kemp. Played everywhere including mid as a junior, classy player with good engine

As you said Wings are our major issue. IMO at the moment they don't give enough, consistently

Hopefully they at least put 18 on the field against us this time.
