I think Martin or Owies should come in for Honey.

Plowman

That would be my choice - Kemp has shown be belongs IMO and deserves to keep his spot.

Weagles play a tall marking team out in the West.

IMO its scraping the bottom of the barrel with Kemp and Plowman.
Plowman is ahead just with experience, and Kemp more upside.

Voss looked a tad excited when speaking about the names we are expecting back after Weitering and Owies mentioned, he raised the name "Durdin might by back this week too".

Weitering vs Kennedy
Young vs Darling

Durdin vs Williams 201/ Nic Nat vs
L
Waterman 193 vs

192 Plowman
193 Kemp

Darling is 191cm according to Wikipedia, maybe that's wrong but if true en maybe Young on Williams and Kemp on Darling? Would be a huge test assuming Darling is still a top player, but in height terms it works

Surdin is still injured.
Kemp looked ok and should benefit moving from #2 to #3.
Cerra needs to go out this week to make a statement.

Regardless of height, Darling is a big bodied mobile KPF. Kemp is in the wrong weight Division and Plow is in the wrong League IMHO.

I've dropped both for the real big boys, Weitering & S.Durdin to do the real big boys stuff....and get a fist in :sly:

Hmmm, the one on club site finished before discussing returning players.
Good if he's available at least.

In the full presser, Voss said S.Durdin and Martin are a chance to be available - and that Weitering & Owies will be definitely available. He also mentioned McGovern is on track to return in round 18.

If Durdin is fit I'd seriously look at playing him and Weitering being the third tall

I've never liked Newnes as a defender. Likes to chase the ball too much to be a good defender. Was nervous when he was named as the 7th defender and nothing has occurred to change my pessimism around him as a defender. I get the team defense but I prefer a player who plays defense as a first choice. So I have Kemp staying or if a smaller player needed then Stocker in.

As I said last week, win the midfield battle and we win the game.
Oh and we might need to kick straight for goal. Add to that we will need to pass to team mates in a better position. Oh and also not turn the ball over in the backline. And TDK needs to break even. But other than that we are good to win!

This next game vs Weagles is another game that will be seen as the weekly season defining game: a must win.

I have no doubt we will win this with the return of Weitering, Owies and hopefully the tall Sam Durdin.

I see it as a full dress rehearsal for the following week's game against the Cats at the MCG, when we hopefully welcome back Pittonet.

TDK will have his work cut out against NicNat.

Our mids/contested game needs to step up from Friday too

Go Blues

Feeling more confident about Geelong and the remaining games than the Eagles.

Actually I think he’ll match up well against NiC.
TDK will be able to use his leap as NiC prefers to do similar. Can’t see him trying to body at centre bounces.

Not sure about the other games but the Weagles will be no pushover like they were in the first half of the season.
This will be a tough contest and we’d better come ready.
I wonder if Newman is the best option for Darling. He has the height, and is a bit stronger and more experienced than the main options. Similar to him taking on Stringer (although Stringer was not in good form).
I don’t think we’ll drop Cerra. He had a stinker but has 9 days to get some fitness work in. Should be better for the run and has a pretty good track record this year.
In: Weitering, Owies
Out: Honey, Plowman

No Nat was great today but I agree with this being a better match up for TDK than a big bodied strong physical ruckman.

TDK had a stinker on Friday but wasn't alone.

Just win.

Yeo subbed out with hammy so guess very unlikely he'll play.

I assume Jeremy McGovern and Dom Sheed won't be available either.

Hope so.... It's the jump and crash that I think will limit TDK..
(don't get me started on the centre bounce body work done to counter his leap.... 9 times out of ten it's just an outright block)

Go Blues

I think we'll respond well against West Coast. Voss will find the balance between giving them a bit of a bake & not hitting the panic button just yet.

The Saints game was our first shocker of the year IMO

For mine ...

IN Weiters + Owies

OUT Plowman + Honey

Toss us between Plowman and Kemp out tbh

I'd love to drop Cerra to make a statement but I think he deserves the benefit of the doubt (just) but that said if the coach thinks Cerra's head just isn't right then I would drop him. When I say head isn't right I refer to whether Cerra is showing strong belief and confidence that he will respond. Obviously his form on the track is important also.

I hope Curnow is practicing set shots from 30-40m out because he has not looked safe in these simple shots all year.

I hope Durdin is practicing all manner of kicking for goal esp snaps/shots in live play bec he has stunk it up lately. He needs to understand small forwards don't get the ball much and are there to make the most of chances. Owies is a better finisher I think so it'll be good to have him back in.

I would play Martin in the VFL for 2 to 3 weeks.
