Instead of robbing Silvagni from the running link up role to play 2nd ruck, Sam Durdin can go into the ruck for 5 mins each quarter and Plow can play 3rd tall as well as rotate with the other backmen.

If its true Cerra injured his knee at training last Thursday, I expect him to be fully fit this week after last week's poor performance.

Go Blues

Looks good to me. Young can do some ruckwork as wel. I'm hoping to see Hayes soon. Think he might add something

Does anyone know what’s happening with Liam Stocker. I thought it was glaringly obvious last week that him not coming in to replace Boyd was a mistake. Now he’s not even going to be an emergency.

Being made back into a midfielder. He knows and understands this. All good. Big preseason coming up for him. With Boyd stepping up, Williams to come back we have enough defenders. Playing back was only part of his development

Dow is playing well but coaching staff don't want him coming in and playing unfamiliar role. He is seen as a mid and being used that way after years of poor development. Put simply there isn't a spot for him at the moment

Good sides always have good players who can't get a game. Their time will come

With Cripps taking a dozen ruck contests, Kennedy spending 40min each game on the bench and Walsh filling the void across half forward, that determination must be on a knife’s edge?

Where is the run out of defence. Saad is brilliant. Newman and Docherty give a little. We really do need another runner such as Stocker if he could get his game going or the mids help out.

Is Stocker a runner? I think he is more of a distributor. It's why we miss Boyd.

Cottrell I would seriously consider as a running HB. Can run and use it well.

My line up would be

B: Docherty Young Durdin
HB: Cottrell Weitering Saad
C: Hayes Cripps O'Brien
HF: Durdin McKay Fisher
F: Silvagni Curnow Owies
Foll: TDK Hewett Walsh
Int: Kennedy Newman Cerra Motlop (Newnes)

Plus Owies for Honey. Won't happen but that's what I would do

Owies named in the team with CDurdin and Honey on extended bench so it's on the cards

Fair enough, although Boyd over Cottrell at the moment. More upside I believe.

OK.

Do you think Stocker offers run from defence? We all know Boyd does.

Stocker either handballs to next connection, or kicks down the line. He's not calm and calculative imo. IMO he runs sideways and doesn't break lines imo.

The MC must be really happy with the defensive cohesion the boys have shown without Weitering.

Weitering and Young take their No 1 & 2. That's Kennedy & Darling, and the ruck, Williams 198 and at times, Nic Nat 202.

Its a good sign for our defense if we don't need the height of Durdin 199 and prefer the more mobile Plowman 192 to do the job as 3rd tall. Plowman will probably take Darling. I'd like to see that.
