Just watched it after listening earlier. No passengers today. None at all.

Harry eould never have worked as hard defensively 2 years ago. Created opportunities for others. We played our way, we beat a real contender and doesn't it feel good.

So many players out but every player coming in for it done.

Dare I say... Marvel is our fortress

Really liked Harry's game too sidefx. Don't care he only finished with a couple of goals, he brought a lot to the table today.

But really everyone did their bit. That's what made this win so satisfying

So far, this season, so many have done so much.

Best 'team' season for so many years.

Great result especially after the start.

Kennedy back in form. Walsh a running machine.

Clearance win (44-30) with some trademark centre clearance wins (TDK to Hewett). Centre clearances 14-5.

Dominated inside 50 64-40. Early on didn't get much reward for effort.

Curnow kicking them from ground ball as well as from taking marks.

Kemp shaky to start with but seemed to gain confidence. O'Brien played his role.

Big game from Fisher.

Unfortunately the small forwards were quiet but still applied lots of pressure.

At times players over committed in contests allowing Freo to move forward without pressure.

Pros:

Mature and dominant performance against good opposition.
Harder at the ball and the opposition.
Loved the team mentality and how they supported and celebrated Newnes' milestone.
Carlton crowd.
Walsh, Fisher and TDK were probably my best in a great team effort.
Young, Saad, Charlie and SOJ not far behind.
Best games I've seen from Cottrell and O'Brien.
Boyd looks better every time I see him.
Loved Harry's physicality.
Honey makes us look much faster.
Very encouraging performance from Motlop.
After a feeble first contest, thought Kemp was encouraging.

Cons:

Outscored in first quarter, even though we dominated the play.
Hope Boyd is right to go again next week.

Most even performance in terms of system, all contributing and 4 quarter effort.
That now must be the standard.
Amongst all the great stuff, a couple little sparks were Motlop collecting the ball from front and centre of a contest at full pace and TDK palming it like NicNat!
Apparently Kennedy was injured too - anyone see or know more about that?
Plus SOS looked like he couldn’t move after crunching Fyfe on the boundary line. But pushed on after that.

excellent result.

so many good players yesterday, i think some have already said it, but it felt like our most complete "team performance" yet with just about every player playing their role at different times, and to consider the players to come in..

as some come back from injury team selection is going to be an issue, and what a position that is to be in.

im loathe to suggest it, but gee O'brien is frustrating ... sometimes he looks nowhere near it, easily pushed off the ball etc.. but then other times he looks like the best ball user in the game, some of kicks yesterday where magical. kicks, leading players into position in between freo players where unreal. i thought both Obrien and Cotters had great games on the wing ... well done to both of the lads, felt like they both took a step forward yesterday in their careers. Well done Lachie and Cotters, both have their critics, me included, but keep that up and there eventually be no questions asked..

kemp started slowly, but by the end of it was starting to show the pace and confidence ... to think he is 5 games in ... could be a super player.

fisher, getting back into where i thought he would be. his best came for a long time, and actually think he was the difference after 1/4 time

really happy with that result, ladder position doesnt concern me, but im glad we are giving ourselves the opportunity and taking it. been too long where we havent even done that in years gone by.

I was confident we'd get a response but not 100% confident if that makes sense

Ball movement is so much better now

And it'll likely just get better

The connectivity will get better

Has Ross Lyon commented on the game yet? Probably thinks Freo were affected by travel and probably dropped their guard.

Just as an aside I thought it was disgusting Nathan Buckley praised Stewart for being able to put his thug across aside and go on and play a great game. Seriously what's going on inside that guys head? Tribunal should throw the book at Stewart.

for the first time, even with those finals years under Rats, I feel like we have a team, a team with an edge, a bluebagger team! It was a great win, a great crowd, a great day and I think this is just the beginning...

For sure Dan . The excitement and feeling level is like when David Parkin first came to the Club .

Yeah when we just lost out to West Coast over there in the finals… those days it felt like our success was built on individuals’ brilliance.
These days, we are proving ourselves to be a real team with strong systems (of course also reliant on superstars but not wholly so).

I was a Teague fan right up until half way through last year. But I really don’t think we’d be anywhere near this even if all other changes had been made.

This brand has Voss stamped all over it.

I agree as well. I can understand why Ratts was moved on, and I loved him as a player. Always thought we were a little flakey and unreliable under him.
