I read somewhere that Hill and Ryder are unlikely to return

Kemp should to stay in the 22 for longer than this week. I say should rather than needs to stay in deliberately as LIFO.

Done nothing wrong since he has come back in. Can play both ends.

Has speed, poise, skills, mobile, and is young. Great height for opposition talls and smalls.

But who does he replace in the back six? Only one I can think of is Plowman who would be stiff.

Personally I think he would make a great winger as he would be virtually impossible to match up.

Against the Saints, assuming Weitering comes in, it's really out of Kemp and Plowman to be 3rd tall, which might come down to matchups.

Boyd is out with a broken foot so Stocker in for him or Weiters for Boyd and Kemp plays "smaller"?

Not good news.
I've been to all the home wins this year but I'm interstate this week.
Blame me if they don't perform.

Stocker in for Boyd and Cerra in for Honey or Motlop.

I'd like to play Martin too, but reckon we'd miss some forward pressure.

I don’t like Stocker as a defender

Hopefully we've learned from the Collingwood game and we don't get sucked in to the fast kamikaze footy. We need to just slow down, win the contested football, which we are perfectly capable of doing then control the football.

Ratten and Saints 2022 are reminiscent of Ratten and Carlton in 2012. Both won a final the previous year, both tipped by some to be top four the following year and both underperforming and potentially missing out on finals when they were tipped to do so well. Interesting if Saints stick fat with him to see if he can influence them positively to get through the slump.

2 of their most important players structurally. Don't take them lightly. They'll come out smoking after the public kicking they're going to cop this week. Our contested game needs to be similar to yesterdays.

Port and Bombers came out smoking too.

I think we’ve matured enough this season to not be bothered but noise. Play our game, we win.

Left field option. Try Lachie Fogarty as a small defender. Behind others as a small forward, was drafted as a mid and is tough and can run straight. Think Liam Baker from Richmond

You're a real Fogarty supporter. Have to admit I'm not.

What we all like about Boyd is his run, dare and courage. We all knew he has the best foot skills.

All the Carltonians I speak to agree Boyd is better than Stocker in the backline.
Fogarty is an inside mid, not outside. He's not that fast to run the ball out or break lines with the give and receive.
Stocker is ahead of Fogarty in the backline for me. I don't doubt Fogarty could fit in with the team defense plan though.

One down, and the next one steps in.
Stocker played his best game of the year on Saturday. Great to see him taking pack marks. Tells me he's in form.
But he doesn't break lines like Boyd.

I hope Boyd has shown Stocker the way our running game from defence has evolved, and hopefully' Stocker adds his layer on that.

Stocker is a good hard footballer, and makes a perfect like for like swap.

Vossy on 360 just said Cerra is the only one we'll get back. Didn't totally rule out Weiters but said unlikely.

I don't recall the Saints winning a final last year

I wonder if Honey may in time end up on a wing?
I really like the way Vossy has handled Fisher. Clearly giving him small tastes of midfield time and challenging him to 'earn' more time. Which he is doing. Love it.
