What's the contract status of the 4 players we have who are often injured? I'll give you a hint their names all start with M.

I think Gov and Jack M still contracted through to 2023. Jack M possibly till 2024. I know he was signed on a long term deal.
The other 2 out of contract this year.

Correct. I think Martin is 2024 as he came across on a 5 year deal. First year was 2020.

I thought Curnow had a silent M at the start of it?

Our list needs a clean up again come end season , we can’t sustain perennially injured , issue requires reassessment .Curly JR will have to make a decision.
We need an experienced & mature , Ruckman & KPD desperately , otherwise our A graders will be impacted adversely and become disinterested.

And we need an inside mid/tagger if Cerra goes down.
If we can't get Dow up to the level, then we need to bring one in.
Ed Curnow will retire at the end of the year at a guess.

Amongst the out of contract this year are these. So we can potentially open up a few spots and put any of these on the VFL list if we think they might be worth persisting with

Caleb Marchbank
Luke Parks
David Cuningham
Tom Williamson
Ed Curnow
Oscar McDonald

Next year
Mitch McGovern

Further out
Jack Martin (2024)
Zac Williams (2026)

I can’t warrant that the list is 100% accurate, but check this thread anyway-

Agree, a bit far fetched.

Between 2023 and 2026 a lot can happen, including Zac being fit and firing.

i'd give marchbank another year, just to get to his 50th.

remember how heartwarming and funny it was when rhino o'sullivan got chaired off after his 50th?

lets do the same for marchy, and we have invested so much time into this recovery it would be a shame to cut him

i'd happily see mcgovern re-rookied for back up, omac was a gamble that we lost, and martin can be offered up as part of a trade for a new ping pong table

Williams 2026; that's a worry. My perception of him prior to coming to Carlton was as a talented, but flaky and injury prone half back, nothing has happened to change my mind. And we recruited him to play as an onballer...

Didn’t he just extend his contract with Geelong?

I'd be putting Marchbank, Cunningham and maybe Williamson in the VFL list with a view to redraft via the MSD should they get themselves up and going. Keep a rookie spot open to allow for one.
