Top 4 is achievable and the boys have that to aim for once we get our 13 wins in the next 5-6 games.

Did I mention how much I love beating those drug cheating Freemasons.

I wonder what the Effendruggies daily publication aka Herald SUN's is going to feature this week.

Mark Robinson has hijacked the paper. It's a disgrace all these feel good stories and club promoting he forces on readers who hate Effendopes.

That celebration last night felt like a gathering of all the drug lords in Columbia ... funny hand shakes, eyes popping out of their scones ... I thought I saw money exchanging hands too. Obvious Robbo is on the take.

We smashed them....in one quarter

Yes would have loved to win by smashing these flowers but

Marchbank
McKay
Martin

plus Cerra going down

meant we were going to run out of legs, we did but managed to defend as well as needed.

It seemed that way on TV, I guess the druggies didn't really have much to cheer about.

I am so happy we beat them, two of my business partners are former Essendon** players, my life would be unbearable this week if they had won.

What was the crowd size? I was expecting a similar crowd to the pies game but it seemed small

The commentators love fest for jakey stringshot is unbearable. The only reason stringshot couldn't break the tackle (fisher?) is that it was his first game back. If he was cherry ripe he would have done it easy.

Simply amazing

Pros:

Finding different ways to win. Outstanding defensive effort. Defensive rebound and ball movement was also very good.
Again came prepared from the outset (like in the Giants' game) against an amped up opposition.
Young and Harry.
Saad, Newman and Newnes.
Fisher has become a quality player.
Owies nailing a couple of set shots.
Super sub Cottrell.
Boyd hardly got near it, but he's an exquisite kick when he does.

Cons:

Beaten out of the centre bounces.
Another early game injury.
Charlie and Harry left a few goals out there.
Stringer taking cheap shots.
Hobbes has got that Essendon* small forward thing going. Likes to play for frees.
Brian Taylor's unhidden lack of excitement about another Carlton strong performance.

Another bt build up, joke of a player.
Thinks he's an enforcer, should have given away at least 5 frees and maybe a report due.
Cannot understand the thought process :banghead:

Best part of last night is when Fisher tackled him and brought him to ground and won the free.

Very happy with win. I thought Essendon* really had a crack. Was tough game. We can score when needed and our defenisve structure holds up nearly every time. Lots of improvement to come but we are so much better than we were last year in so many areas.

Top 4 is a reality

Can someone who saw the first half run through Newnes game. I thought in the second half he was ordinary? Gave away a of of free kicks.

We played a bit cute at times…lots of taps to each other and players trying to sell candy. We seemed like we were cruising along and just not into it. A bit lazy at times.

Good to be bad and still win but gee it was about as exciting as watching paint dry.

We need to be very careful …if those behinds were goals in the 3rd quarter we might have been crying. Voss needs to contain himself, he’s pissed off and it came through in the press conference. I don’t blame him but he’s got to use it productively and not let it spread like a cancer.

We lost to Coll and almost let Ess back into it. We took the foot off the pedal badly and Voss did the right thing to give them a spray . It was alarm bells and he knew it.

It’s hard to believe that 11 games ago Essendon* was playing in a final. It goes to show how things can change quickly.

I was pleased with the win. You don’t go anywhere as a football club without winning games like that. A cold winter night, with key players out, against an amped up opposition. It wasn’t a match you’d tell your grandkids about, but we got the job done when we were expected to. Take the four points and move onto the next challenge.

The Ess pregame stuff made me vomit.

Hate this club more than any other. Turd. Slobbo. Shitty.

Because they were playing an overtly attacking game. AKA cheating.

The cheer the Essendon* supporters gave Hird ........ They still don't get it ..... Morons

Highlight of the night (apart from the win) was walking down the stairs from Level 4 (Shane Warne Stand) singing Happy Birthday to Essendon*.

Not sure why so many were worried before the game... Esserden are garbage

Yet they did manage to negate our biggest strength which is center clearances but we found another way, and rebounded from the backline... great to see Marchy back and Young continues to grow

Disappointed we didn't go on with it... we had 2-3 chances to go ahead by 7+ goals but we let them back in... and that last qtr wasn't football

We have a massive problem running out games which will get tested playing the better teams in the run home

...but for now... happy birthday junkies
