  :banghead:

We were due for a poor game and still nearly pinched it. Probably should have in the end. The selection of Carroll as sub was poor in hindsight... and should have been in forethought. The one thing we can't afford in a game with the current group available is to lose a tall. Should always take a utility type as sub. Kemp works have been ideal, but was an unused sub last week so I understand why it wasn't him.

I still think there's plenty of positives to take out of it and the bye comes at a great time. And hopefully we can refresh and have decent run of injuries in the second half of the year

All about Weiters now

Almost pinched it but we were a fair way off to be honest. The boys really toughed it out but our bottom 6-8 players were poor. Get our spine back and look out. We will be fine.

Proud of how we fought it out, didn't lie down and the team spirit was on show for all to see.

Was very surprised we didn't have Martin at least as sub. Carrol might make it as a player but not this year.

Needed more from fisher, motlop and to a smaller degree Durdin.

Some thought Dow was good, I'd give him a C+. Same as LOB.

Superb game, Walsh.

Still gutted but we were pretty ordinary for large parts of today.

The mosquito fleet didn’t bring the pressure and were ineffective.

Hate to single him out but Carroll was no good today. Gets to good spots but hasn’t picked up the pace of AFL. Had quite a few mates though.

Extremely worried about Weiters. If long term, we are in deep shit noting our current injury list involving key position players.

Wish we could just get a decent crack at it

Means nothing in the end, but we had 6 of the top 7 players re disposals.

Re marks inside F50, they had 18 to our 9.

As is the Carlton way, Voss has said the Weiters injury is “more towards the major end”.

If was fun while it lasted.

Yes I don’t get why structurally we didn’t play another tall
Kemp has to play especially when our second tall forward who isn’t a tall forward JSOS has to Ruck
Or if one of our talls go down back

Below average intensity first quarter half the second most of the third and half the 4 th
Lucky to be within 4 points and thought extremely lucky to be 6 points up at quarter time
Carroll needs a rest and 4 small forwards didn’t do enough
Beaten on the wings LIB and Cottrell just going
Lacked intensity around the ball for lots of match
Looked slow
Disappointing when we are in the top 4 before todays game to let the Carringbush win

Like many others, had a feeling about this game all week.

In our three losses we've had to sub a player out super early, and the player subbed on hasn't been a good replacement.

Smalls struggled especially early on.

Bottom six were average.

They should have won by far more - they missed a lot of shots.

Just annoying as @#$%&! to lose to Collingwood.

Why Carroll was sub blows my mind. Has been really average the last 2 games. Stupid selection.

Tough to win 5 in a row. Not a Carlton thing...lol. Loss might re-sharpen the focus. A win may not have done that.

That's my bit of rationalisation to make me feel better...lol.

We had our opportunities as well 56 inside 50's to 51. More clearances as well.
The lack of another marking forward killed us. The Pies triple teamed Charlie and he did amazingly well to kick 4 goals.
The choice of Carroll as sub was foolish. (Not hindsight, I said it in the pre-match thread). The last thing we needed was another mid/forward who isn't strong overhead.
Motlop found out what pressure footy is about. What's happened to Stocker? He's gone from being a very good kick to shanking most. :?
How good was Saad? Keogh thinks he's not good because he's only a half back  but FMD, he's a bloody good one.
We really missed Matt Kennedy. His ability to link our backline with our forward line with his overhead skills were sadly lacking.
We're at a bit of a tipping point with injuries at the moment. We just need to hang on to our top 8 position until the reinforcements come back in. Hopefully we can.

The mid-season draft will be very interesting. Nick Austin has been a star so far. Hopefully he can pull some rabbits out of his hat.

Just home from the game.
We were very ordinary but almost pinched the game.
Turn overs were terrible and our kicking too.
Too many passengers and as some have pointed out Carroll had a nightmare.
Losing Weitering was a massive blow, the last thing we needed.
At least we fought it out to the end.
We looked off from the start and we looked tired.
I have seen something on social media about Walsh should have received a free right on the siren.

Walsh most certainly deserved a free at the end and a chance to kick a goal after the siren. But as was the case today the umpires missed a lot of frees that should have gone our way and gave Collingwood ones that weren't even there. We weren't good enough today to beat the opposition and the umpires.

Yep we can forget about top 4 now.
Hopefully we make top 8 and have a healthy list come finals time.

First close one we’ve lost. Didn’t deserve to win, but great we came at them. Weitering loss huge. Charlie still kicked 4 despite being double teamed by Moore and Howe all day. Our top gun midfielders all played well. Saady also played a blinder. But our lower end stands out as not ready.

Small snippet of pleasure for me was seeing that absolute flog Jack Ginnivan miss two sitters. And didn’t the Carlton supporters around me give it to him

Richmond had those bad injury issues in 2019. Freshened up the side and they were flying by September. Actually was a blessing.

That's my positive spin...lol.

@#$%&! me can we have a bit of good luck with talls. Read/heard somewhere during the week someone say "can't afford to lose Weitering" so of course we did!
