Not sure this is the right spot for this post, but I’ll try. My friends parents are MCC members and can not attend this weeks game at MCG, Carlton vs Collingwood. They want to give me their ticket and buy me some guest passes. My question is do we need to have their physical card with us to enter the game ?
Can anyone shed some light ?

Officially, yes you are supposed to be accompanied by a member.

But CK and I will be there so you should be fine.

You shouldn't enter on their card, but if you buy guest passes with the bar code you'll get in.

If you get asked say you're with 'hammer and CK'. They know us round there.

Thanks for you response, the ticket i have from them didnt cost me anything ( as it was as if they were buying it for themselves )
But having said that i have a barcode on the ticket like any other ticket i bought

Get your friends to double check the MCC website mate. It sounds like they might not be entirely across the rules.

It'd be terrible if you unknowingly put their membership in jeopardy

For some strange reason, this game is part of the MCC waiting list offers - meaning that MCC waiting list members such as myself can purchase tickets for this game. I dare say this was done weeks ago and they grossly underestimated the attendance - it seems like a bizzare decision by the MCC.

If you were to get one of these tickets, there's no need to be accompanied by a member or present a membership card (these are not issued to waiting list members).

I’m very wary of that, I’ve chatted to the MCC people twice over the site and twice they’ve said to me that the member does not need to be there with their card for us to get in.
Even though the ticket is an upgrade ticket from the actual member holder not a guest pass purchased
