yep I loved the way that old ground shook when the bluebaggers were storming home.

For me, it was stamping our feet with my sisters in the Gardiner Stand after a goal. The whole place seemed to rumble

Great post dannyboy. Love it.

I never sat in the Gardiner Stand, but the noise that came from there for the reason you give was a great backdrop for the cheering that came from the stands around the ground, especially Heatley end.

I loved those sell out games, and watching desperates still jumping the fence during the game.

I lived in my grandparents house at 3 Walton St Brunswick in the early 1950's when I was 4 years old. The roar on a Saturday afternoon of the crowd from Princes Park (about 1k away) is on of my earliest memories that is only rivalled by memories of the roar from the lions at Melbourne zoo on a warm summer evening which I remember hearing when I returned to work in Melbourne in 1967.
