TDK's marks in the last
Walsh just being Walsh
Hewitt just being Hewitt
Weiters!!!!
The buzz squad!
I thought Carroll was okay - having to play tall and go for marks etc.
Loved Cotters work

it was a great first half and then a stirring last!

Great win given that we looked absolutely stuffed late.

Cerra could barely get going in the last, so for him to execute that spoil and not infringe... Massive effort.

Also, Silvagni was huge in the last quarter too. Not just the tackle on Hickey, but he kept presenting and presenting, leading up and down the wing. His teammates missed him about four times with what should have been easy kicks, but when others had stopped to a walk, he kept on going.

44,000 there.
A tad undermanned in a few spots.
Against a highly drilled team of professionals.
The facts were on show - This Team has bought into the Plan according to Vossy and Co. So, so evident everyone is on the same page.
Vossy is well and truly on his way to having the Team playing a game that is sustainable and wins finals footy.
We have the toughness developing nicely, we just need to take steps towards the ruthless. Lions 3peat under Vossy knew all about being ruthless, so I day say we are on the way there as well.

On a side I note I absolutely loved seeing Diesel's big man-hug on Vossy, as they walked the boundary. Diesels joy was exploding from his face.

Life is good and getting better.

And TC - when we do faulter, and we will, just count to 10 and hold onto your bile and vitriol. If/when the team has a blip, trust in Vossy and Co and those above him to right the ship and power on.

A win against Collingwood and then the bye would be glorious. From there we can reset for a huge 3 months.

Ain't some positivity in Life grand, particularly with the Election today. :yikes:

Great post, I especially like the highlighted bit.

Very happy Carlton supporter. Great win against a good side. We missed key players and after a five day break and we are just so hard at the ball.

Still got improvement in us and I expect some ups and downs but we are on the right track and I haven't said that for over 20 years. Go Blues

Excellent win last night and certainly one of the most enjoyable to attend in the past decade
Leading in to the game I thought this had the potential for a let down after a really taxing win last week, a 5 day break, a quality opponent and a number of outs, but this team is tough, resilient and committed
Forward pressure in the first half was off that charts
Charlie outstanding - what a joy to have him back firing
Small forwards impacted with pressure and combined to kick goals
Hewett and Walsh brilliant in the middle
Weitering a rock in defence
Sky is the limit for this group

Indeed. BASF D-90 recorded plenty of touches, too (Boom Boom!, or, one for old folks).

I watched the replay today. Was I imagining it or did I see Warwick Capper in the crowd with a Carlton scarf on after the game?

The camera was in that guy during the game too, was it Capper? Looked like it might have been him.

And did I hear correctly that our average age (and games played) was one of the lowest for the league this week?

I saw that but thought it was his mate next to him hanging his own scarf on Capper to give him shit...but I could be wrong. I've seen Capper at the lower plenty hotel bragging to people that he gat Wallsy sacked, so I don't think he's got a lot of love for Carlton

How good is it to have a deep midfield. We can pretty much afford to have 2 of them have quietish games, because the other 3 are going to step up. So last night Cerra & Cripps didn't have A grader games, but Hewett Kennedy Walsh did. And yep, loved the footage of Diesel & Voss, the 2 best clearance mids I've seen play the game. No wonder our centre square work is humming

Carlton's been a bit of a hard sell for my 9 y.o. but he wouldn't shut up about us today

Terrific game. The second quarter was off the charts. Sydney were always going to come. I thought the team held tough when it mattered.
Obviously the stars shone
Curnow
Walsh
Weitering
all brilliant
Hewitt has been a fantastic addition
I like the use of Cripps in the ruck
Kennedy has become a very solid mid
Fisher has more edge it his game as a floating forward
Young a terrific swap for SPS
DeKoning’s best game. Won a lot of tap outs

The most pleasing aspect of the win was the contribution of the lesser lights
O’ Brien’s second half
Owies was impressive . Always liked his aggression
Durdin impressed again
Motlop looks like player with footy smarts. I would keep him in instead of Martin
Cottrell was terrific early and late.
Carroll was quiet but is good at what he does.
Both Cottrell and Carroll are better options than Setterfield.

I been banging on that the best bottom 6 players get you over the line in big games
That’s what happened last night
O,Riordan, Bell,Ladhams, Wicks, struggled

Hats off to the team.
Turn up next week with the light switch on and we should beat Collingwood

Satisfied customer. Should have him stuffed

What a great win. Everyone after the game new it was a big win. All blues supporters couldn't stop smiling. My eldest son (age 30) said after the second quarter, that was the best quarter of football he had seen and he was now firmly a believer. For some the scars of the past take a long time to get past.
