Hmm but Tommi the Hawks game won't be over by the time our game starts
It'll be over around qtr time.

I do also wonder if the players will be kept informed or not.

Do they still put the scores up for the other games on the screens??

Yep, the Dogs will put the sword to them early.
We need to focus on our own game and win it nonetheless, especially if are to be relevant in the finals.

It's like A v B, C v D etc
So unless they have a footy record down their shorts they won't know

Um seriously he is a SHIT footballer

Have you seen him this year?
They are better off without him

I recall him killing us in Perth a couple of years ago, haha

Anyway, my Hawks mate reckons they are tanking. Wingard likely out also

Agree .... Dogs have pretty much a full list with JJ and Crozier beings tests. Only Wallis is gone for the season.
Hawks have put a line through 12 players including Frost, CJ, Lewis, Worpel and Wingard

Even in Tassie and McEvoy's last game I can't see Hawks doing us any favours.
Need to prove we're worthy and beat the Black&White.

Wingard hasn't played since Round 14 anyway. Hopefully they get Mitch Lewis back but Bruest and Gunston are their forward class.
Mind you, the Bulldogs demolished them last time. Hawks midfield don't have the class to go with Libba, Macrae, Bont, Smith etc.
Personally, I think it's up to us to beat the Pies. The biggest risk with a do or die game like this is individual players may feel the need to strap on the superhero cape and do it all themselves. Our strength earlier in the year was everyone doing their job and relying on the others to do theirs. Hopefully that continues.

I said it last week and it failed us but we need to nail our opportunities. There's nothing more frustrating than having more or equal scoring shots and pissing them against the wall.

I agree BV you would think dogs will win and have a superior midfield but hawks have a good record in Tassie and it’s McEvoys last game
Need Gunston and Breust to fire big time and that Moore to kick plenty
Lewis is gone for the year I think
Hawks not tanking but experimenting Sicily in the middle last week needs to go back to the backline

Wingate is one of the most overrated players in the AFL

Hawks still a chance but agree we need to win irrespective of that result

Raises an interesting point though

I would imagine the players will not be allowed to keep abreast of how that game is going? (no phones, all staff to keep their gobs shut...)

Voss would not want any distractions

But if Hawks are 1,046 points ahead at 3pm maybe Voss tells the lads? ("Hey guys, can that kamikaze approach I was telling you about earlier")

They will definitely put it up on the scoreboard, esp if the Bulldogs. If the Bulldogs lose, there will be a huge roar from Carlton supporters anyway and the players will know, even if they don’t see it on the scoreboard.
If the Bulldogs win, it will just spur us to continue to play hard as if the season is on the line ;-)

I meant the Dogs game will be over about qtr time of our game - but can only we Hawks winning if something out of the ordinary happens.
Eg the Dogs get a bunch of injuries or the weather turns feral.

Stranger things have happened that's all I will say

Plenty of times teams needing to win don't win (Jesus just look at our mob)

I expect Dogs to win but won't be surprised if Hawks win

Oh and btw Worpel is another rubbish player.

May have been posted somewhere already, but apparently no team has ever been in the 8 for the entire season only to drop out in the last round?

If that is correct, it better NOT be a record we attain :fuming:

Go Blues

Good news is it has been done before.

Bad news is it was us that did it 1977.

Hawthorn have not lost in the final round since 2009 and have never lost in a round 23
