This.

This is what gives me confidence in our 2022 showing even with Jones never to return to CHB.
I can imagine what the team spirit will be like when we have our "spine" intact: All "back" together again.

B: Weitering
HB:
R: Pittonet
HF:
FF: McKay

Pittonet alone gives our midfield group a huge lift and allows TDK to offer support and spring in the ruck, and a mismatch when needed in the forwardline.

Add McGovern and Marchbank as intercepting mark in the backline, and we will reduce marks in defensive 50 to manageable levels.... hopefully Williams plays the last 3 rounds.

This assumes no setbacks or further injuries. Would love to share your optimism but given our run on the injury front, can't see it happening.

It also assumes they return in form without needing a couple of weeks in the 2s to find touch.

Still, it's nice to remain optimistic

I'm mindful of that happening rhino. Just seems to be the trend. Can't ignore.

Those mentioned above will come into the team for at least the last 5 games of the season, and maybe some of the kids in the VFL breakdown rather than our senior's KP's

Yes I am optimistic.
We beat Tigers, Port, GWS and Dogs against the odds ... I'm sure there will be more, but it starts with a win in our next game against Effendruggies*

Its bloody windy and freezing outside.
Got a kid with Hot spot (I hope that's all) in his back.
We are watching the loss against Pies...we really should've beaten them
The injury list is ridiculous, and we have a bye to dwell deeper into the loss and our predicament.

Good to read Cooney's thoughts:

Quote:
Cooney's Grand Final prediction

Melbourne vs Carlton

“I’ve still got belief that they (Carlton) can get there.

“Brisbane have let us down in the finals over the last couple of years.

“Fremantle, I’m not too sure if we can fully trust them after the couple of poor weeks that they had - I understand that they beat Melbourne but there were a few players crook.

“St Kilda are around the mark.

“The best football that Carlton has played this year has been second in the competition.

“They’ll finish in the four and have a crack at it.”

Thanks Cooney for reminding me of what we have to look forward to this year...when the troops get back.

Top 4 not looking as bright as it did prior to last Sunday's game.

The list is looking great, and we have the MSD to look for short term support....help us get a couple more wins before Harry & Marchy return, followed no far behind with the return of Pittonet.

The next 6 weeks could well be 2022 on the line. We need a min 3 from 6 to give us 12 wins by Rd 20. Hopefully by then Pitto and Weits are back and the rest stay healthy. What do we think. Will 6/10 give us 15 wins make the top 4? Probably not with our percentage. 7/10 and 16 wins probably will based on 2021.

14. Tigers - Win
15. Freo (In Melb) - Mmmmmm
16. Saints - Mmmmm
17. Eagles - Win
18. Cats - Mmmmm
19. GWS (In Melb) - Win

20. Crows (Away) - Win
21. Lions (away) - Mmmmmm
22. Demons - Mmmmmmm
23. Pies - Win

Here is last years AFL Ladder: After 2021 Round 23
Position Team M W D L
1 Melbourne 22 17 1 4
2 Port Adelaide 22 17 0 5
4 Brisbane 22 15 0 7
5 Westn Bulldogs 22 15 0 7
6 Sydney 22 15 0 7

4/10 makes the 8. 7/10 makes the 4. I'm confident in 5/10 and the rest might be a wild ride. :yikes: :yikes: :yikes:

Squiggle ladder predictor has us 7th but equal with 4th on 14 wins after 5-5 in the next 10.
So 6/10 would be enough for 4th based on that. Not sure their logic though as it seems they have the bottom teams winning a few games between them

I reckon we will win 2 of our next 3. We will drop either the Dockers or Saints game. Dockers more likely given their current form.

That being said, there are always injuries and suspensions that affect things. We are due for a bit of luck, so hopefully it is the others' turn.

It changes every time you hit the random generator.

The first time I did it, it had us finishing 8th with 13-9 and Richmond in 4th with 15-7 :garthp:

Next time it had us in 6th on 14-8.

No matter what, I can always manage to sneak us into the GF!

It's still way too hard to say at this point.
Lots of top 8 teams have yet to play each other or play again.
You can't predict injuries/illnesses either - as mentioned surely it's our turn for a bit of luck in that front.

And you do sometimes get some kinda unexpected results in the last few rounds.

I wonder how much ladder predicters use last year's ladder to predict this year's results?

So….

does anyone remember what odds we started
at for the flag this year…?

because i put fifty squid down…and i can’t
find it in my TAB account…not because it’s not
there…but because I’m a dick head and can’t
work out where the details are…!

aaaanyways…we were 17 dollars last week…
and come into 15 today…interesting…!

kindest regards tommi

I also had a multi 20 on us winning the flag…Harry
winning the Coleman…and Walsh winning the
Brownlow…at the start of the year that is…!

so far yet so close…!

now WHERE’S that cup…!

Yes! Our odds were around $31 on March 5.

We have to aim for 7th.

No one has lost a game from 7th spot this year...could be something in that. :sly:

The next 3 weeks will determine where we finish not only b/c of the 4 points but also as an indicator of likely performance for the remainder of the year. The maths is neat too (although I realise nothing ever works out neatly...):
Win 0/3 we will struggle to make the 8 - don't reckon 12 wins will do it this season!
Win 1/3 and we should scrape into the finals
Win 2/3 and we will make finals and should be 4-6
Win 3/3 and I reckon we are headed for top 4.

Starts on Thursday. SWITCH ON boys!
