It is in Sydney so very likely.

We did actually manage 2 weeks without rain, most of the mud pits that used to be my lawn had dried out. But it's been back to the wet stuff this week. 9mm forecast Friday, none Saturday, 6mm Sunday. Not exactly bucketing down, but it should help a little.

Doubt it will be a heavy track. Saturday is going to be fine and 28 and Sunday a few minor showers and 25. Hasnt been much rain in Sydney Olympic Park this week (I work in between the Giants training facility and the ground).

It'll be a win for the ages and will galvanise the group further if we can pull it off; if not, it's not the end of the world as long as we go down swinging.

Interested that people here talk as if JSOS is a tall. He isn't. He is a medium forward who is a good mark ie 3rd tall.

Same with Charlie. He is a terrific athlete who can and does play above his height.

Both are mobile which helps.

Only real tall in our forward line is Harry and he is not playing.

Interesting times.

You just used the word tall.

Back in the day when John Nichols was ruck he was tall. Judd is taller.

The Bean pole forwards started to surface when Paul Salmon came onto the scene as a FF. He had a height advantage.
200cm phenomena in the forwardline

Gary Ablett was tall enough to play KPF at 185 because he was strong enough to hold his position and had good hands.
Scarlett was a 190cm FB who could outmark FF's because of his strength.

SOS Kemp and Charlie are all around 194, aka KP size because they are tall enough to compete for a mark, and they take them regularly in packs to prove the point

Harry McKay is a bean pole. Super tall. He is our x factor in the air.

Does anyone else think with Hewitt listed on the bench he is not likely to play? In that case I think Dow will play to enable Crippa and Kennedy more time forward.

I think more likely we had no name a team on a Thursday night and Hewett needed to get through a Friday training session. I have no idea if he plays or not, but hope he is 100% and does. If not, I agree Dow will likely come in for him.

Assuming he does play, I'd guess he, Plow, Owies and one of Cottrell and Boyd will be bench. Hewett a no brainer. Plow gives us flexibility with Kemp whereas without him, we'd have to play Kemp back all day. With Plow, we may be able to swing Kemp forward if need be. Owies has done nothing to warrant being dropped. Though with H out, would love to see both he and Durdin hit the scoreboard a bit more this week.

Given 5 day turnaround, wouldn't surprise if whoever our emergencies all play in seniors against Swans next week.

Long shot, but if anyone doesn't have tickets and still wants to attend despite all our shit news- I have 4 available in S202 Row C, 2 adults and 2 juniors.

They were $100 for the 4 of them but I'll take $50. send me a PM if interested.

Kid 2 kindly came down with gastro last night so our weekend trip interstate is off. Just waiting until the rest of us get it. @#$%&!! :-x

More than an hour into main session and Blue George Hewett looks to be getting through session so far. Involved in match sim and now stoppage work with midfield group. Has been named in extended squad, after missing two games with corked calf.

Hewett was named on extended bench vs GCS and played.
Kennedy & Cerra were named on the extended bench against Hawks and played.
Kennedy has been named several times on an extended bench and has played.
I can't recall any time a star player was named on the extended bench and failed to pass a fitness test this year.

Hewett got through training on Wednesday and pulled up well.
I can't see why he would miss. Its been 3 weeks since he last played and he was named to play against Adelaide 1 week ago but wasn't risked.

X 4

This is almost a free hit for us. We have nothing to lose.

Win and it's epic considering everything

Lose, with all things considered it's probably expected .. Cameron resign, our outs etc..

(Aslong as we don't get flogged, then it could be a disaster)
