Don't know whether to laugh or cry. This is a new Carlton though. Despite being decimated and being nervous as hell, I still expect us to get the job done.

We're hardly decimated. The crows have a heap of outs themselves.

If we've improved as much as we all hope, this is a good solid win at home.
The comp is very even bar 1 at the top and a couple at the bottom. Banking wins now is crucial.

Go blues

Cottrell is the only emergency not playing in the VFL this evening, so I guess he’s our sub tomorrow.

Decimated? Who are we actually missing from our best team?

Pitto
Hewett
One of Gov, Plowman or Marchbank
Stocker, but probably only just over Newman

That’s literally all I can think of that would definitely improve us. 4 players. Everyone else is fringe and debatable whether they would perform better than the player they replace. We have our best 2 midfielders, our best 2 key forwards, our best 2 key defenders all out there.

Very strong lineup. Absolutely no excuses

That should be enough. I'm looking forward to it!

No excuses.
After a very good, if fortuitous, start to the year we need to stand strong now over the next month as the weather gets cold and the legs get heavy.
We need to build wins, confidence and a bit of percentage to push towards our first credible finals appearance since Ratten was our coach.

Yes, I realise Keogh is perfectly capable of representing himself. Just saying…

True, but just once wouldn't it be nice if going against the grain meant standing up for someone who's being put down by the mob? Keogh's angle is always the most negative one; that's what people get fed up with, not that he doesn't conform to some hypothetical TC consensus.

Must win

want to get to the last 3 rounds (Melb, lions, pies) with at least 12 wins

Means we want 7 wins from the next 12 games

If Dees win and we beat Crows I believe we will be in the top four, can that be true? If it turns out that way hopefully that gives the boys confidence (in a good way). Confidence in the sense of belief and no longer doubting ourselves. Maybe I'm talking about the fans more than the players

We are the most fragile team in the AFL. The VFL reserves are a further indication of this problem.

We should win this game by 10 goals but I won't feel confident unless we are are 10 goals up with 10 mins to go.

Reilly O'Brien will be a key IMHO. He marks the ball around the ground and he has the potential to monster TDK at stoppages.
Our structures need to be right on point today. Especially at defensive stoppages in the backline. Not letting Adelaide players run through unimpeded.
Weiters should take Tex and Young on Himmelberg. I would have preferred Plowman take McAdam but Williams may end up with the job.

In fairness it must be hard when players get taken out of the game. Setterfield didn’t play after half time and Marchbank after 3/4 time
