Agree R27. If no head high contact in either case we should challenge.

Forgot to mention. My favourite things from Saturday night were a couple of smothers in reasonably quick succession.
Apart from a beauty from Boyd last week, smothers have been too few for years. IMHO, they are a signal of intent and willingness to commit your body for the team. A small thing but significant for me.

I don’t reckon Voss will be concerned about the reports at all. Neither of the incidents were undisciplined, stupid, gutless or OTT. I think he would want us to play right on that ‘unsociable’ line every week and wear the occasional suspension.

We beat Bulldogs by 52 points Rd6 2020

Before that is was round 16 2014 Saints by 85 points

It is only the 3rd time since 1995 we have been 5-2 as well
2011 5-1-1
2012 5-2

Agree ABNs nothing wrong with either but the Young one is particularly egregious as he had no option did not hit the other player in the head - so the conclusion is you can bump but not too hard -completely against spirit of Modern game ie head sacrosanct and dangerous acts outlawed

PS the dirtiest act in the whole round was the tunneling by Larkey -very dangerous deliberate and calculated -one week ridiculous -very lucky Young did not get serious injury from this low act

AFL let Cotchin kick someone or attempt to kick someone and gives him a fine Larkey deliberately tunnels and gets only one week yet they pin Young for bumping too hard to the body for a week -ARRANT NONSENSE

Carroll just looks an AFL player. Reads it well and is tough. I have no doubt he will be part of a gun midfield inside 12 months. Stocker could be as well. That’s when we become a top side.

Motlop & Kemp should add a lot to our side when ready.

Get McGovern McDonald Williams Hewett Pittonet maybe Marchbank & Cuningham back into that side and we are so much better. Just need to keep working to play new style over 4 quarters.

I also see lots of improvement in Durdin O’Brien Fisher TDK Dow Young yet. Lot to like

Just on the Larkey incident, if it were up to me, I would've sent it directly to the tribunal. Was deliberate and could have caused serious injury. Very very very lucky to get offered 1 week.

This is one of the rare occasions that the majority of the media appear to be on our side with Lewis Young decision.
That should help his appeal as we all know the AFL are very reactive to media opinion.

Amazing the corrupt AFL didnt appeal the lenient sentence that Larkey got, given they are trying to stamp out serious injuries that act can cause. Yep cause its not Carlton. Remember them appealing Curnow decision as that was too lenient. They even appealed Toby Greene. but Larkeys act was not serious enough cause lucky he didnt cause a serious injury. What a crock !!

Did you say corrupt? There lies your answer.

AFL Commission is not accountable to anyone, nor transparent.

Yep. SEN discussed it this morning and said if this appeal is not successful then the bump is dead.
Does anyone know what rule states that a player cannot bump another player on the shoulder?
