Very comforting words. I hope you are right.

Never confident, that’s part of the lst few years (and weeks for that matter).

Hopefully the side is learning to win just as we are as supporters

Key match ups:

Midfield
Pitto vs Darcy
Cripps vs Brodie
Walsh vs Serong
Hewett vs Walters
Cerra

Backline
Weitering vs Taberner
Young vs Lobb

Forwardline
McKay vs Pearce

Carlton win by 6 goals.

Do I really need to explain?

Shut down Taberner and Brayshaw and lets give this game a real 4 qtr crack.
Curnow vs Ryan

There you heard it here first.

Personally I think, shut down Brayshaw and we win.
Top "total" stats us v them only:
Disposals: Brayshaw
Uncontested Possessions: Brayshaw
Inside 50's: Brayshaw
Score Involvements: Brayshaw
Tackles: Brayshaw
Pressure acts: Brayshaw
Defensive Half Pressure Acts: Brayshaw
Metres gained: Brayshaw
Frees For: Brayshaw

If he gets shut down then Will Brodie might be the other one who steps up in the middle.

I think we need to make sure Darcy doesn’t dominate.
Then Brayshaw, then Taberner. And then the average Freo player who comes from nowhere to have his best (and last notable) game of his career.

Which is exactly why they will and must play TDK.

I bet he comes into the side.

If Brayshaw gets away from us would you try Cottrell on him as he has the tank to run all day?

It would make sense.
Ginger you follow him everywhere don't let him touch it.

George has the discipline and smarts to put the clamps on Brayshaw. He doesn't have to stop him but if he can nullify his influence and still win plenty of the pill himself, it will be a big bonus.
He has been the sweeper in most games so Walsh or Cerra may have to step into that role. Full credit to Hewitt, he has been a revelation. Let's see if he can quieten Brayshaw and still be a valuable contributor.

As for Cottrell, we've already upset the balance in the midfield with Kennedy missing. Throwing a non midfielder like Cottrell into the guts would give Freo too much ascendancy. The game will just require a shuffle of roles IMHO.
Brodie has played well on Cripps previously so it will be interesting to see how Crippa performs. We need a big game from him with plenty of spread because the Dockers will test us in transition.

The players would have had the opportunity to see where we went wrong last week in their reviews. Let's see if the coaches have come up with some strategies to better control the ball coming out of D50.

Shit. Not good. Hope TDK at the very least shows a willingness to compete.
Is 5 straight games without getting injured a record for SOJ?

I'd try Hewett or Cerra first and if they negated their own game too much with little to no effect on Brayshaw, then send in the ginger.
