There's a few options from the seconds - t'll be interesting to see if Voss gives it one more week before making multiple changes

I'd consider giving Charlie a run further up the ground for a few bursts. Refresh the fwd line a bit & open it up for Harry & smalls. We're playing like we're too conscious of having 2 gun talls there & just banging it in.

Carlton by 115 points

Hopefully both Durdin and Pittonet will be right to come back in. I’d also strongly consider promoting Stocker.

I would not have anymore ins than those three.

Fogherty, Cripps and Plowman would be the likely outs. I don’t count Boyd as an out as he was 23rd man.

It sounds like Wines won't be playing which negates the loss of Cripps.
No Dixon for Port and I believe Allir is unlikely as well.

I think the changes might be:

Dow => Cripps
Pittonet => TDK
Durdin => Fogarty (Martin, Fisher and Owies lucky)
Stocker should also come in but not sure who he will replace.

We owe them from last season and they’re ripe for the picking.

My bottom six against the GC, in order are:

Fogarty
Owies
Plowman
Martin
Fisher 8th for Fantasy Points
Setterfield

DeKoning and Kennedy were close. Cerra, not much better.

IN: Pittonet McDonald Durdin Dow Motlop

OUT: Cripps Plowman Fogarty Owies Martin/Fisher

Its time for Dow to take Cripps spot, if Dow is fit. He's showing good form in the Ressies.

In fairness, Newman has performed well enough to hold out Stocker for now, but I have Stocker in my best 22. Stocker's only been back for a couple of weeks, and of his 30 odd kicks, nearly 20 of them were from playing on at kick outs.

We have to find a couple of wingmen as an upgrade on Setterfield and OBrien over the course of the year: we are calling Philp, Carroll, Cuningham

Ollie wines out for 2-3 weeks (because of the medication he's been prescribed by Cardiologist)

Lycett dislocated his shoulder, but could possibly play this weekend with a few jabs.

Finlayson kicked 6 in the reserves for Port.

Dixon wont play

Alir Alir ... does he play this week? Not likely.

Great - Finlayson loves playing against Carlton.
Please don't put Plowman or Young on him.

Reckon we will bounce back . Martin , Fisher and Owies were atrocious and need a spell . Slowly but surely Voss needs to sift through them and weed a few out . They have all had a good go , time to act . Its that bottom six thing . They won't make you but sure as hell they will break you .

Also , is that right that Amon has not signed at Port ? No doubt Voss will be in his ear .

B: Saad McDonald Young
HB: Docherty Weitering Williams

R: Pittonet Kennedy Cerra
C: OBrien Hewett Walsh

HF: Motlop Curnow Fisher
F: Durdin McKay Silvagni

IC Newman Dow Setterfield DeKoning

Sub Martin

E: Plowman Boyd Fogarty Owies

Martin for his one quarter cameo ahead of Owies.
I love the way cats bought in Dalhaus for leg speed in the last quarter last week.

Kept Fisher because he can give us some midfield time whereas Owies can't/ doesn't.

Need 2 rucks and forward mismatch with DeKoning. He's great for the chop out and for fresh legs in the last when Pitto tires.

Mostly agree, apart from DeKoning. I also wouldn't play Setters

Voss brings a lot of intel on the opposition to this game. We'd better win!

Isn’t it obvious? It’s all there in black and white.

Playing two rucks is a handicap for us. None of them have any impact as forwards & the trade off leaves us short a runner in transition.

One ruck, plus Jack. That’s what we’ve got. If Pitto is fit, he’s the one.

Similarly, the deep sweeping wing that O’Brien is playing isn’t helping us move the ball. If Stocker is fit, I’d be moving Newy up to the wing as he’s at least brave enough to get beaten if it means putting the ball in dangerous areas on the rebound. Setterfield will have to stay because the boss wants size at the coal face, Newman is a better pair for him anyway.

Dow should also come in if he’s fit. He’s a bit one-dimensional, but he won’t upset the existing structures. I’m confident he can handle the contested work & remain hopeful that he can rotate through George’s role when required.

IN: Stocker, Dow, Durdin… Pittonet & McDonald if fit.
OUT: Cripps, Fogarty, O’Brien… De Koning & Plowman per above.

No doubt Fisher & Martin need to lift, but I just think that slight tweak to the transition game will bring them into the game.

He’s not having any influence on the game out there.

They can’t all be match winners, but if you’re on the outside and you haven’t got an opponent, you’re obligated to do something that forces some sort of match up. No prizes for guessing where their extra was all day.

I think the MC have been sucked in by the soft early draw. It’s a real shot in the arm for development, but there’s a decent chance (still) that we can punch our finals ticket before facing another top four side (Geelong R18). I still think we can go into the bye week 8-3 or better.

Because he is so soft
If you want to be a top 4 candidate you can’t play blokes like him
Should not be in the list
Has had 4 years
Gifted games towards the end of last year

Same applies to Setters Martin plowman Fogarty
Every player has a bad game but some blokes still put in 100%
Silvangi Walsh still give something
Not the 4 mentioned
Cerra is soft as well
He was the fifth best mid at the Dockers last year
Lacks hardness
When Cripps went off you expect the other mids to step up and the bare minimum hold their own
Hewitt was ok
Walsh kept presenting
Cerra was second to the contest yesterday when we needed him more than ever
We have given up a lot to get him
It’s his 5 th year. A down hill skier yesterday
