Marchbank, Young and Plowman isn't the end of the world.

Speaking the obvious but winning against Ess becomes absolutely essential. Have to win the games we are expected to win. Lose these and we don't deserve to play finals. No excuses given our midfield is in tact.

Marchbank is fantasy land stuff. He’s unavailable. Indefinitely, perpetually.

Kemp, Plowman & Young is what we’ve got for the next 6-7 weeks.

and hopefully Durdin and maybe Ballenden or Teakle

So WA is dropping mandates from next week for all but health care workers.

Liam Jones would then be able to travel freely around the country to play? Did he even bother to register for the mid season draft? Is it too late now?

Liam Jones will NOT play at Carlton.
The club and Voss have put a line through his name when he left us high and dry.

The truth, of course, is much less petty.

He got paid out for this year. The rules are pretty clear after that.

The AFL retain their vaccination mandate rules making Liam Jones ineligible. He hasn't applied for the draft and the club has moved on.
Surely that's the end of the story.

you would think so - not sure how often it has to be brought up - but he is gone for good

Surely that's the end of the story.

Especially as Voss has publicly ruled out taking him back.

Was told McG R18 and DC late June.
I assume those dates equate to the players being pretty much ready to go in VFL games.
If that's the case then maybe it's not out of the question DC could yet have some impact this year. And could McG potentially put his hand up for senior action come finals? He'd have maybe 3 to 4 games in the VFL.

Hopefully it all comes together for the team and all key players available for Finals, let alone the last 3 H & A games against finalists.

I thought Cunners had a bit of a hiccup in his recovery, and noy expected till late August.

I hope you're right.

Next week Harry is available for Tigers...and fingers crossed he surprises everyone and players vs Effendruggies*

Six weeks will have him ready for the Freo game… unless 6 is the new 1-2.

6 weeks was the initial prognosis. Not sure how you get 1-2 from 5-6, or 4-5.

Was the prognosis an absence of 6 weeks or returns in 6 weeks?
Point is he's recovered well from surgery FYI.

Games Harry missed
1.GWS
2.Syd
3.Coll
4.Bye
5.Effen
6.Tige
7.Freo

He was operated on the Tuesday after the Adelaide game on a Sunday, which was 5 days before the GWS game.
Not hard to see him coming back for the Tiges against those dates.

Anyway, someone who works part time at the club said he was training last week and looked good. This bloke is not in Russell's S & C team but from what he was told don't be surprised if he was ready after the bye to play against Effendruggies, but Tigers game looks realistic. That was last week after the Pies game.

Just passing on what I was told.

Again, the point is, he's not far away...yes he might miss 1-2 more games after the bye, or he might surprise.

Nothing is set in concrete, but if he's ready he will be selected.
He looks to have recovered from surgery and he has has a good fitness base given he's completed a preseason.

We've all got our fingers crossed and live in hope.

Like the rest of us, you will find out this Thursday around 6pm.

Lets hope he does play this week. Ditto Durdin.

Well, at the very least, it's good to know that his recovery is well on track or even ahead of schedule.

Some might be mocking you, but I wrote at the time of H's injury that it wouldn't be totally unreasonable for him to return straight after the bye given the type of injury and rehab options he has at his disposal.
Is it a long shot? Yes it is, but certainly far from the realms of possibility.
Personally, I think he'll miss one more and be back for tiggers, but like you, would be far from shocked if he lined up Friday night.
