Williams missed the north game with an Achilles. Straight back in the next week.

& now he's done

Get most of McGovern McDonald Pittonet Martin Stocker McKay Marchbank back and playing well during second half of the year and we are a top 4 side.

forget how many teams we beat, % tells us we are not a top 4 even if the 4 ladder has us at 4th...ahh the good old days when 4th meant 4th and % showed how ensconced you were in that position.

From that list we gain our best for position, and solidify the zone, when they start to return after the bye.

Spine:

Full Forward: McKay

Midfield:

First Ruck: Pittonet

Backline:

Intercept mark: Marchbank/ McGovern
7th Defender: Stocker

Forwardline:

Mobile Forward: Martin/ Cuningham

With the quality of our Intercept marks to come in, I don't feel we need McDonald.

We will be a strong Top 4 team with the above inclusions.

To be 7-2 and 4th with our injury list is pretty good.

Zac Williams is expected to be sidelined for the next 10-12 weeks after scans confirmed a high-grade calf strain.

Better news than we were expecting.

Zac should get his body 100% and return fully fit for pre season training.IF he returns early he can be tested in the reserves (quarter ) we cant afford him to break down in 2023.

Surely we LTI him?

Seems weird being glad it's only 10-12 week injury!

Agree, McDonald isn’t getting a game without an injury crisis. I think Young has overtaken him for a key defensive role. More height, bigger reach, greater upside. Then Marchbank or Gov take the third tall role. McDonald is backup for Young and Weitering

I reckon forget about Old McDonald. Stick him out to pasture on a farm.

Not only is McDonald our only real tall defensive back up for Young, he can also pinch hit in the ruck or key forward. He'd easily be getting a game with us at the moment if he was fit.

No Doubt

But, his back injury doesn't look promising.
I hope he takes the field sooner than later.

Problem with the injuries to our key players, is that they are long term, 8+ weeks injuries.
Very hard to cover that type of player for such a time.
Players out for 1-2 weeks, you can adjust short term, but I’m starting to feel we might feel the long term pinch soon.
Need the rest, especially KP players like Young, Weits, SoS, Charlie, TDK, Kemp, etc. standing.

Yeah , agree , and thats why Kemp coming on is so important . I thought his game against GWS was EXTREMELY promising .
