How is this possible.
Literally the best football we've played in about 10 years and with the worst injury list I can remember.
Mind blowing.

Even with only 17 men, I reckon the above side would come close to beating some Carlton sides from the past 20 years…..

Stick Akeui (concussion) in a pocket and move a couple of magnets around and there’s your 18

And Carroll. He went off during the 3rd term of the VFL game after a heavy hit. No mention of it in the injury update, but I’ll add him…..

We shouldn’t be. The main focus should be getting Weiters, Pitto and Cerra back. All three are key cogs to our best 22 and generally have a track record of being able to play more than 10 games per year. If McGovern, Williams and Marchbank can get back, that’s great but I wouldn’t pin my hopes on it given their injury histories.

that’s not how it works. we can’t focus our way into faster recovery times. the players will each be doing everything they can to heal and rebuild conditioning and form. time will tell. patience is required, from players and from fans.

You could add Jones to that list due to self inflicted injury.

Fogarty didn’t play on the weekend and is a test this week. Carroll isn’t mentioned on the website injury list but went off injured during the VFL game. He copped a heavy tackle (possibly injured ribs)?

The above side is obviously just a bit of fun, but it does show how we’re improving because both the AFL & VFL teams still managed to win on the weekend.

The good news is that only McDonald, Parks & Philp have been ruled out for the season. And at least six (Akuei, Cerra, Fogarty, Martin, Owies & Weitering) are a chance to play at some level this week.

Only silver lining to this injury list I can see is players are getting chances they may not have had and proving themselves whilst getting experience.

Boyd, Young, O'Brien, TDK, Motlop, Kemp may not have been given the opportunities they now have?

If we can get players back and add to our list at the end of the year it should make us so much better for 2023

On SEN today, Kennedy mentioned it was bad luck Carroll got injured on the weekend ... he makes the list 19.

My guess the other 3 to make 18 are Pittonet Cerra and Cuningham.
It’s one hell of a list....

ya know.... if this was richmond, melbourne, geelong or the druggies, the afl website and other 'journos' would be shitting themselves to get this on the front page first

yet, only sen notices the long injury list and reports it

strange that

To be fair, many on our list have been injured so long, non-fans have probably forgotten they exist.
