Absolutely. AFLCA Player of the Year, All-Australian, multiple B&Fs. He should be remembered as a very talented player who remained loyal throughout a tough period in the club’s history.

Agree.

His MVP year was amazing. Plus 300 games for the club. Must have accumulated a few Brownlow votes over the journey.

If we’re selecting a balanced squad based on playing ability, Murphy should be in the team IMO. Perhaps ahead of Barrassi or Ansell Clarke.

I do not expect anyone to support me on this…

Most here seem to forget that for the vast majority of his career, Murphy was a very, very, good player. If he had retired a couple of years or even a year earlier he would be seen in a completely different light.

And as I said earlier, Barrassi was past his prime by the time he reached us.

Fair call on Barassi Teddy. But as a leader he was magnificent. He had an aura about him. When he spoke players listened. Hoping Voss has similar effect.

Yep , i was around then . Barassi had aura alright . The bloke had a magnetic personality without comparison . Thanks George Harris , the Father of the modern day Carlton Football Club .

It was before my time but my understanding was that Barassi's arrival ushered in our most successful 30years in the VFL/AFL? Certainly deserves a spot IMO.

I never saw those in yellow play, but their legend lives

Blanks...need to look deeper. Can't just fill it with names of players I've seen....gotta show respect for the past legends I know of....Gill, Chitty, Diggins, Henfry....its bloody hard

2 rucks for me Nichols and donalson ahead of Fitzpatrick...and have Walls or Clover to play ahead of Fitzy at CHF...plus I thought Maclure was a better CHF than Fitzpatrick. Hey Maclure may make my bench, ditto Ratten

Of those Ive seen but not named, Whitnall is a no, and Murphy had some bloody good years (despite tarnished by some for his last 100 games of 300), but have to do more work on previous legends before deciding his fate.

B&F by a fair margin in our best year ever (statistically) … yeah, need to find a spot for Ratts.

For added context, second and third in the 95 B&F was Bradley, then SOS.
