Everyones ideas would not work with the AFL.

Why?

Because they are: original; logical; and may provide a fair to all solution to a long term issue.

BTW.. Contacted the club... Apparently no ECal fixture this year... No idea why??

Am I missing something here..?? Is there a new system?

It would automatically go into the calendar, coordinate the whole tribe... Everyone knew not to book anything when a game was on....

Yeah I noticed that last week. Surely it's not hard to generate?

Anyway I googled something like "sync AFL fixture" and found a few links to do it from.

I tried a few weeks ago too, I thought it was a bug with the webpage and it would be fixed soon.

Thank you for that....
I'll give it a try... Hopefully I don't link to some scam website (or more of a scam than the AFL )

Does anyone know when the AFL are going to announce the days/times for Rd 10 games onward?

According to this article early next week and we could be getting more prime time slots.

Rounds 10 and 11 have been released.
We play Swans on Friday night 20 May at Marvel and the filth on the Sunday arvo game at 3.20 at the G on 29 May.

Nice to be back on Friday but it's a 5 day break after Sunday twilight against GWS interstate.

Yet another Sunday game too!

Should have swapped them around.

It makes it hard for those who want to book an interstate trip.
What is the reason for the fixture being released this way? Money?

I think it was so they can "reward" clubs based on recent form?
Rather than make the same mistake they did with us a few years ago, where we got like 5 Friday night games and stunk them all up.
Or was it COVID related?

Whatever the reason, it wasn't with Carlton's best interests in mind.

In the world's most physically demanding team game, they offer Carlton a Friday night game after a 5 day break !!! Swans have an extra day recovery. Who does that benefit?

Def not covid related. Feds are in midst of an election campaign. They aren't going to do anything stupid. Whoever then wins is unlikely to do anything stupid for first couple of months at least. Whoever wins will in all likelihood do plenty stupid after that as they are both hopeless.
From a state viewpoint, dictator dan is up for re-election in November so can't see him doing anything stupid. If the moron in Qld or the the turd in WA do anything idiotic (highly probable), only a couple of teams affected and AFL could easily and quickly relocate them to Vic or NSW.

Your first point, wanting to see who is "worthy" more likely after they banked on us rising up the ladder a few years back and got it horribly wrong.

Looks like we'll be playing the cheats on Friday night

"Richmond will host Port Adelaide under lights on Thursday, June 9.

The following night, Essendon* will face archrival Carlton at the same ground to mark its 150th anniversary, while the Gold Coast-North Melbourne game in Darwin has been set for some time."

Why do the Scum get rewarded with Friday night for winning a single game?

Edit - I just saw its one of the bye rounds with not many games, and it's some kind of anniversary. Look forward to ruining it for them.

I see GC are playing North in Darwin.
I really enjoyed watching us play that game during Covid (despite BT's idiotic "new and shiny things" comment) and hoped we'd try to make it a regular fixture.

Following our Friday night games against the cheats, we play Richmond on Thursday night and Freo the week after at 1.45pm on the Saturday.

Following up on Missnauts post, I thought the purpose of rolling fixture was to reward good teams with appropriate time slots. The cheats play on Friday night for 3 consecutive weeks despite having only won one game for the season. Ridiulous.

Rounds 20 to 22. Didn't realise we were interstate 2 weeks in a row.
Saturday night against Crows in SA followed by a Sunday arvo at the Gabba and then Sat night at the G against the Dees.
