Even 4.

Darcy Cameron is 6 years into his AFL career.
He has gone past Grundy.
Hard to think that 2 years ago. But it can happen.
By the way pick 48 2016 draft.
Interesting what we do with our first round pick which will be around 12.
Why pick Dunkley.
I agree with the previous poster
What’s the bet the club uses it’s first 2 picks
( say pick 12 and 30) to get another big fish that disappoints

100% correct. There is no comparison at all.
My filth mates are filthier than normal over the prospect of letting Grundy go in favour of Cameron.

Interesting that we chased Cameron hard when Pies got him, so we went for Pittonet. Would have been a great get
Cameron has shown this year that he can influence games as good as Grundy and given what he is being paid I would be very happy to let Grundy go. Paying him a 7 year deal at around $7m was crazy

It's why i like our ruck mix and think that adding a mature back up (cheap) is the way too go

If both players were available and you could pay them $1, who’s in front?

Fair dinkum, the recency bias here is comical.

Raw hitouts
Hitouts to advantage differential
TOG
Positional versatility
Scoring
Every defensive stat ever imagined

If you take a step back and have a proper think about it, the gap between Grundy & Cameron needs a logarithmic scale.

That's why I mentioned and discussed the dollar value. It makes a difference especially with list management.

Maybe read things properly first instead of jumping down people's throats?

He's been Ruck in 12 straight wins. I reckon that's a good influence. Fact

Is young daicos as good as Walsh in his first season? I haven’t paid any attention or watched any filth matches this year so I honestly have no idea.

He has been very good but played across half back a fair bit and gotten possessions by kicking in from full back.
Walsh playing more midfield was impressive. Of course I'm bias though.

So he’s having a “Jason Cloke” season?

Lol. Better than that and barring injuries or everything going to his head, he will be an absolute gun.
Shame he couldn't play for the team he supported as a kid.

I'd like to see Daicos in the middle week in week out like Walsh before I agree he's as good as Walsh. Daicos plays HBF, and doesn't have an opponent most of the time.

Walsh therefore >>> Daicos

I guess its not a popularity contest.

I played with a few fellas in winning GF's and like alot of other team mates, I still think they are flower/ dorks and the like. Good footballers though, and grateful they played for us.

We gave up the chase for Cameron long before Pies showed interest.
We were keen on him half way through the season.

I liked what I saw of Cameron in the NEAFL

Really? I was told Cameron chose the Pies from a long way out so we dropped off and focussed on Pittonet

Anyway I am happy with our three but the more I think about it the more I reckon Goldstein would be an awesome get. I expect us to make finals next year and he could be a vital link.

Who knows the truth.

It seemed like SOS had his eyes on him throughout the season and it was a fate accompli.

We gave up the chase...it seemed to me...because aabout 6 weeks later the Pies came onto the scene.

I am still spewing Lipinski wasnt on our radar.

Cheap and filled a need on the wing

we all knew he could run all day and had good goal sense

What more did we want from a Trade?

Pick 46...repeat..pick 46

He isnt a proven footballer like Lipinski was.

Sholl is quick but lkets be clear, speculative.

Would like to move up a few spots in the Draft to get our hands on a HF/ mid to replace Martin, with Bailey Humphrey captain of Gippsland Power. Knows where the goals are and has a very strong body.

Winner

If Honey keeps improving and learning to contest a tad harder than he has this year, he can be the rotating HF....but Humphrey not a wingman but he is a beauty and adds to our midfield depth

I dont like having 3 small forwards (Motlop Owies Durdin) who cant help out in the midfield rotations.

From the draft thread.

Elijah Hewett looks good.

Elijah Hewett
Height: 185cm
Weight: 84kg
DOB: 27-05-2004

Speed, endurance, inside game, strength and tackling.
He could be our missing piece, tagger/inside mid with speed and could play wing, like Walsh.
And rest him up forward.

https://central.rookieme.com/afl/2022/05/05/wafl-player-focus-elijah-hewett-swan-districts/

WAFL stats.
https://wafl.com.au/player/elijah-hewett

2 x Durdin
2 x Hewett

Motlop & Durdin could easily develop into mids. Motlop especially and that's why he was recruited. Get Williams & Boyd fit and it changes our dynamic around HF, Wing and Midfield

If we finish 9th our picks are approx. 9, 27, 55 and 59. Plus we get a pick for Jones that given it is probably a three year deal will be between Pick 30-50. I'd be happy to swap some future picks to build up our young stocks now

I see big improvemnt in Kemp, Mirkov, Carroll, Honey in 2023

Unique set of circumstances though.

$300k sling buys a fair amount of goodwill.
