 thanks Great ex.

I was a tad shocked when I saw 29 and 4 years left on his contract.

Got the list from my son.

Joshua Cripps will be training with Carlton with the chance of being added to our list early next year.

Really happy about this.

He's a candidate and that's about it.

Who are the others who are training with us over summer and competing for the one remaining spot?

When do they allocate player numbers?

Alongside Josh Cripps Carlton has invited Eastern Ranges' Tyreece Leiu to train with the club as part of its preseason supplemental period program in a bid to win a spot on the list. Leiu is 194cm & played in defence & played well as a strong-bodied midfield option.

Looks the goods. Kills two birds with the one stone if the above is true about Leiu.

Nice way to start the day.

4 years potentially wins us 2 flags.

Then Free Agency.

He will be after the threepeat thereafter, and have to sign his next big contract with us.

2018 draft: : the gift that keeps giving ... Walsh and Stocker.

Michael Lewis, 19 y.o. tall defender, is training with Carlton’s AFL program to push for a list vacancy. Potentially helps with Liam Jones hole.

We’re doing the old Murray Vance/Trent Sporn trick - draft them at around 190cm and hope they grow a few more centimetres

Agree.

Presure for spots is always a good thing.

I thought Jesse Glass McCasker may have been more insurance with a few preseasons and seasons under his belt...plus 4cm taller than Lewis.

If he's not selected, he's depth for our VFL team

Cripps & Leiu no good?… or is there a missing piece of information (how the additional spot has opened up) yet to come?

This article seems to agree the Blues have lined up the ducks and have got themselves rock hard fit for this season

https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/teams/carlton-blues/afl-2022-carlton-blues-list-analysis-sam-walsh-resigning-feature-recruits-playing-finals-season-preview-news/news-story/040f84077c42e04abb774dbd0cd03fea

Quote:
But they now have everything at their disposal, most critically a list they’ve gone chips in with.

So over to you Blues — it’s time to deliver.

Quote:
The team’s flimsy defensive structure that consistently meant Carlton couldn’t stop teams from going on big runs was widely considered its biggest weakness in 2021 and something that must be amended for it to play finals, and rightfully so.

But Maclure believes a tough off-season on the track could also pay dividends.

“Voss has brutalised them over the Christmas period. You don’t know how much better you can get yourself until you get rock-hard fit,” he said.

“I think that was one of the problems in the past. It doesn’t kill anyone, it makes you better.

“Getting them to peak fitness is a must. But you never know what can happen because they haven’t been there in a while.... one thing you know is that they’ll be fit and they’ll be hard.”

Indeed, 2022 looms as a big year at Ikon Park after several seasons of failures.

All signs point to it being the year the penny drops and the club delivers on its potential
