Thanks Rexy.

So am I right to say that we have no live picks in today’s rookie draft but we can fill the spot vacated by Jones in the pre-season supplementary selection period or the mid-season draft?

Correct. Cottrell won't have to be re-drafted thanks to the rule change, but O'Brien was de-listed, so will be added to the rookie list today. Jones will be removed from the primary list on Monday after the final lodgement deadline. We then fill the final spot during the SSP, which runs from December to early March.

I'd rather see us use a live pick (#6) in the rookie draft and leave O'Brien until the SSP. But, it looks as though we're on tram tracks.

Won't hurt to have a few trying out for the SSP spot over summer

Lifeline afternoon....

There is reasonably strong mail Essendon* will pick up discarded Blue Lochie O’Brien.

Dumont should also get another go.

Interesting.
If that happens we will have an extra spot on the rookie list I assume.

Yeah, we redrafted O'Brien with pick #6

We also drafted Domanic Akuei to the Cat B list.

And Cottrell with #24

I wouldn't be totally against the idea of sneaking a course of HGH through young Dom. He's in the books as 76kg, but that looks a bit generous.

I suppose they could just feed him, but who can be stuffed waiting that long??

How many players can we get into the VFL list?

Want to see our Father Sons get a chance.

Sounds like we’re going to look at a handful of players over summer training before deciding who we’ll pick as our PSS period selection-

Reading that list makes me feel ancient. Even at the end of next season there'll only be one player in their 30s. Keep topping up with elite recruits and we could have a great 5 years coming up.

Always knew it was going to happen with Betts Murph Simmo and Levi gone. Add Jones and there's a real drop off in age, but seeing it for real has still amazed me too GE.
The list transformation is done and the profile looks good. Get another KPD, a good one, to replace Jones, and the list looks balanced. Spots on list are hot, let alone spots in best 22.

Age in 2022

Curnow 33

Docherty 29

Saad 28 edit
Plowman 28
Williams 28
Newman 28
Newnes 28

Martin 27
Cripps 27
McGovern 27

The rest are developing stars of the future...starting 2022 under Voss

I wonder which FA is available for us next year?

There's a few above who will be playing for their career in 2022...love it.

Plus a few developing players may be up for Trades too....pressure.

List profile is looking balanced for 2022

Also posted in another thread.
Joshua Cripps will be training with Carlton with the chance of being added to our list early next year.
