I wonder if this would have affected Liam's decision if it had happened earlier A guy left work because we're mandated to be vaccinated and he was waiting for it to be approved, although I do think a lot of people who claim to be waiting for Novovax (ie: my BIL and his family) were actually hoping to wait out the pandemic. |

If that comment is a response to the footage of the 2 competing, I think Cripps got the bounce of the ball go his way in that contest, but Young didn't look to have the weight to go one on one with Cripps imo. There's a bloke called Oscar McDonald who has played nearly 100 senior games for the reigning Premiers as a KPD and turns 25yo this year. He looked promising in the preseason playing back forward and ruck, but missed the season proper with back injury. He is still maturing and has recovered from back, and I've only seen photos of him which proves he's back on the track. I'm sure he's one of the candidates vying to replace Jones. Young may be competing as a 3rd tall. Competing with Marchbank, Plowman, Kemp and McGovern. Both Young and Gov have put their hands up this preseason. Marchbank is my first pick if fit, and a mate at training last week said he was looking fit and sprinting. Jones leaving is not the end of the world. We seem to have options fot the tall defensive posts, led by our AA in the waiting, Weitering. |

Oscar is the safe choice. Not the future though. Young has the height but not the body strength it would seem. I recall Dees fans saying this last year. Marchbank is the obvious preferred candidate but is coming back from an ACL. I hear some people saying CM isn't a true KPD but I don't buy that. Sure he won't stand the gorillas but he should handle the weight division one rung below. I'd have thought it's safe to say SOS when rebuilding the list earmarked JW and CM as our future defensive pillars. Let's hope Caleb stays on the park this year. McG seems to be playing on smalls so I expect he will peel off and as such provide one level of support to JW. I like that. I mean he's done SFA as a forward and can read the play fine. |

I recall that too. You make good points. Oscar may be coming into his prime. He played KPD from the age of 19 to 13yo, and had a lot of potential. dees had too many big dogs and they kept his brother Tom when he was on the nose. he came good too. The future KP Weideman couldn't make the seniors last year. You never know when a player between 23 and 30 is going to peak. |
