In that article, it appears that Carlton is not interested. I agree. We have moved on.

We shouldn’t let team down would have been a weapon the way we are playing this year but get games into Young who was well beaten last night
Don’t go back go forward with hungry players who want to play for Carlton

I’d take him back in a heartbeat, at least as cover for Weitering and Young. Who do we have if one of them goes down? McDonald’s body isn’t up to it. McGovern, Marchbank, Parks, Plowman aren’t key defenders. We need back up. We’re in the premiership window now

I’m not pissed off with him, I’m pissed off with the AFL didn’t give players like him a pathway back to the club. It should have been obvious that the vaccine mandate would be gone in a year, they should have allowed him to be put in an inactive list for 12-24 months.

And now because he “retired” which had “nothing to do with the vaccine mandate” another club will get a free hit at the player we developed!

What happens if Weitering or Young goes down? Who plays on Daniher, McStay, Hipwood? Or Brown, McDonald, Jackson, Weidemann?

I loved everything about Liam except his once a game cross ground turnover.

Doesn't fit the age demographic we now have.

Good luck to him but we have moved on

Weitering or Young

That accounts for one of three. Good luck to Kemp playing on a 200cm key forward

We need to replace via the Mid-season Draft

Young is coming people. Very, very impressive for such a inexperienced key back still. We have found one - like.
Just need Marchy up and running now...

I'd love to have Liam back, mainly because he's been with us through the bad times.
However, Young is developing. Griffin Logue could be a good addition to our backline if we could pry him away from Feo (not likely but worth a shot).
And I think that Voss has our defence so well organised, it has now become more system focused than player focused, finally.
Plus if we keep playing the way we are, there will be a line up of players wanting to come to us anyway.
We'll have to beat them off with a stick.

How good would it be if we could pry away Ben McKay and/or Sam De Koning.

I would have him back if the senior players want him back. He may have burned his bridges with the group, in which case we move on and look at other options.

We have Weitering & Young. We need to somehow get McDonald & McGovern fit. Parks is a third tall at best as is Marchbank.

We need at least 2 more KPP's added to our list which one needs to be a key defender. Hope we can address this in the mid season draft. Ballenden is the one I would chase. 23 and ready to go

As good as it sounds to trade in any of those, bwe couldn't offer the opportunity to make it worthwhile for them.
What we really need is a solid citizen state league player who can fill in when needed but isn't feeling too hard done by in the VFL.

You must really love Doc then

If we can get him in the mid season draft, I'd do it in a heartbeat... if only to help us with our injuries down back

Other than that I agree with you... move on

I can't see OMac on the list next season and I have high doubts that McGovern will remain as well.
But if he does, McGovern has one more year left - contract expires 2023.
So far he has only played 7 games in the last 1.5 seasons and his best output since his first year in the AFL is 16 games.
As much as I love the idea of him in our backline I think he's cooked and should do himself and the club a favour and retire.
I just can't see them getting him on the park for any sustained length of time.
