Rance is 32, a bit past it now

Talia's foot is cooked

Oscar is OK, maybe
McG might be better down back but isn't THAT tall
Marchbank is always injured
Plowman isn't THAT tall

Young & Oscar are the ones I guess, outside of something leftfield

First person who says Mick Martyn gets shot on the spot

There are a few candidates out there however unlikely any can be good enough.
They'll be battling for a game let alone to cover Jones, initially anyway.

My list
Blake Schlensog - ex Geelong, in the WAFL
Connor Ballenden - just delisted by Brisbane
Leek Alleer - mature age in SANFL.
Charlie Dean - best young player award in vfl

Believe he's retired and/or staying in SA.

Patty Cummins was injured for about 6 years before making his name in the Test side. Hopefully the same for Marchbank.

I'd say Gov, but he's injured too much.

As a 3rd tall maybe but as a KPD too short. Same with Marchbank and Kemp. We currently have 2 KPD on our list.

Lewis Young 201cm and Oscar McDonald 196cm.

Both will be fit for round 1. That's putting the mozz on both.

Here's a few mature age. Mature age? 20, 20, 21.

Charlie Dean (Williamstown – VFL) Age: 20 Position: Key defender (195cm, 86kg)

This year’s winner of the VFL award suggests an AFL-level opportunity – and success – looms. After a breakout season as an intercept defender, Dean claimed the 2021 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell medal – the award given to the best young player in the VFL.

Leek Alleer (Central District – SANFL) Age: 20 Position: Key defender (195cm, 81kg)

Widely regarded as the most likely mature-age prospect to be taken in this year’s national draft – and rightly so. The 195cm intercept defender has rocketed up club draft boards throughout the season, playing 11 SANFL league games for Central and impressing with his athleticism and high marking.

Blake Schlensog (South Fremantle – WAFL) Age: 21 Position: Key forward/key defender (199cm, 99kg)

A second AFL chance looms for the emerging key-position player after failing to play a game in two seasons on Geelong’s list. Schlensog linked up with South Fremantle for the 2021 WAFL season and was a constant threat for the Bulldogs at both ends of the field.

Details are from Fox.

Should we have kept Cas? He looked cooked but he was handy as a KPD a few years back.

I believe he is.

Plus, why would he want to come back after we delisted him... it's like going back to an ex who f'cked someone younger then got cheated on themselves. Too bad, so sad. Life on the Gold Goast will be much nicer for him and his family. than MelBURN.

It’s worth calling Talia to find out if he is willing and able to play for us next year. It’s unlikely going by what’s been reported, but it can’t hurt to have the chat. He’d be ideal for 12 months while we search for longer term options.
