Interestingly, he’s still on the players section of our website. All other delisted / retired players are gone and all the new players are there. No way that’s just an admin error. The club clearly hasn’t given up hope of him rejoining us

Gosh, the club sounds like me whenever I get dumped

After yesterday I just want to reiterate that he's a selfish prick.

Oh please, just because what he didn't do does not fit your agenda.

I disagree with him entirely and believe vaccination should be mandatory, but it is not and so he excercised his choice.

Silly as it may have been.

At this point, anyone who had the booster pre-Christmas would have the same level of immunity as Liam.

Unless you're boosted, Cru ain't far off the mark.

I reckon since McGovern has got injured again, the loss of Jones has been really noticeable. McDonald is pretty good one-on-one, but can't stay on the field. Lewis is pretty good at spoiling the long ball, which Parks and Plowman can't do. But none of these tallish types can go with quick leading types. I'm sure the lack of help he's getting must be impacting on Weitering's form which has been fairly average.

He’s a huge loss. Has forced Weiters to take the number 1 tall and play in a purely defensive manner. I like Weiters best when he risks taking the intercept mark, a real strength of his, rather than always punching, often from the front position. Intercept marking is just pure gold.

Good insight Stefchook.

Agree with your descriptions.

With Jones, Weiters and he could handle the big boys, and do it with speed.
We are stuck with what we've got, without Jones.

I like having McDonald in. When he plays, we could have Young as the intercept mark till McGovern gets back.
The big strong forwards are too much for Young this year, but 3rd tall is something he can do.

Its a pity Marchbank, McGovern and McDonald are key players to have at our disposal.
I expect it all to come together in the 2nd half season. That's why banking these 4 points is a god given and will hold our 2022 Voss led challenge in good stead.

The tall/medium intercept half back has all of a sudden become one of the most important positions on the field. I knew Jones would be a huge loss but so is Mcgovern. The latter has a great footy brain, really good vision, uses the ball aggressively & cleanly. He shouldn't be too far off now?

Is Jones eligible to play at AFL level now in Victoria? What about other States?

Snippet in the Herald Sun says Liam officially retired - with payout. So, basically shuts down any possible return via the mid season draft.

I suppose that means he’d have to nominate for the draft in November if he’s going to make a comeback.

Edit ** i was incorrect in what i wrote here prior. My misconception caused by listening to the news on friday implying the mandate was done for general workers and me under reading the health orders. The mandate for general workers was revoked on friday, and then replaced with a different order which you could find scrolling further down the page on vic gov health website.

Glad i could edit it easily anyway
My bad :) soz
