Ball handling has to improve though

Ball handling was poor early, but felt that he improved during the game. I'd hold judgment on his BH until he has played a few games

Yes , he covered a lot of ground . Next step to become a one touch player .

He has plenty of tricks. A left foot pass into the corridor was a peach. I thought he avoided contact a few times early which concerned me but hopefully it was just nerves. Plays the Cuningham role of recent (high forward/mid) but stays involved in the game more IMHO. Pressure for spots is a good thing.

Kemp for Marchy seem a given. I'd like Orazio to get a full game, Voss' bake and early sub of Durdin might mean he gets it at senior level instead. Hopefully Cuningham a straight back in scenario, but not sure you can have him, Elijah and Fog in the same team either. Do they consider Young given Freo's tall forward line and Jackson's form.

I'm sure Young gets considered but they haven't worried about Kemp having a size mismatch in the past

Was more thinking in the sense of do you play three KP backs (and Gov) given Amiss/Treacy/Taberner playing, and use Young as the back-up ruck.

I'd say Kemp almost certainly playing if it's down to him and Young.

I think Kemp is a much better option as the third tall.
I think their 3 talls may be a liability for them if we can maintain our pressure game up the ground. In this case, they won’t be able to easily pinpoint their tall timber which will make it difficult for them and we should have the advantage bringing it to ground and running the ball out of D50.
We do need to respect their midfield and will have to work hard in attack, as we have been doing.
And of course, make sure Jackson doesn’t exert too much influence - big challenge for TDK.
If we bring a hard working, team effort, we should prevail. But they look like a much better unit than they were last year.

Freo have been our bitches for a while now. They'll be keen to get one back on us. They're certainly playing better for than they were last year. Jackson, Brayshaw, Serong are their keys in the middle. Young and Fyfe going OK. Pearce kills us down back every time. They probably send him to Harry. Harry is in good enough form to still be a handful. Hopefully Curnow gets up. Didn't seem too bad so fingers crossed. Should be a good game, but I reckon we have the edge. Blues in a tight one

What's the risk of Cripps missing due to his wife having a baby?

They said he wouldn't miss a game unless she goes early. On AFL360 he said he was flying out later than the rest of the team, and they're all returning Saturday night.

So I reckon she's booked in straight after Gather Round.

It is a possibility, he said he will leave later than the group and come straight back. If his wife goes into labour he will come home.
