Fev still shitty that Vossy ended his career. He's a good bloke but take what he says with a massive grain of salt.

What would happen if we kept forwards "at home" and didnt push everyone right up the field?

What would the other team do if Mckay just stayed in the goal square and only led 30metres out in either direction and Durdin was to his right and Motlop to his left?

If Curnow only roamed 50 meter arc up to the centre square and had Kemp/JSOS floating around the 50 and another small/mid by his side?

Wings would have to run a lot up and down as would the midfield and we'd possibly be outnumbered in defence? or would we if we kept them home then other teams defenders would have to stay too?

Just pondering

We'd be outnumbered coming out of D50 and very unlikely to find a way through the oppo's press.

But yeah I take your point. I think this is what Buckley was referring to when he said we don't put enough time into taking the oppo's game away from them. McKay planting himself in the goalsquare is an extreme example but it's an example. At this point Moore needs to make a decision - stay put or go up the ground.

I think on the day we tried to pull him forward when he was on Charlie, and he followed but only to a point (somewhere around the back flank) and then peeled off and went back again.

Tactics.... and good coaching. They are a well drilled team and they know what to do.

RUMOUR - Big Footy. Is that Dimma was contacted about a director of Coaching role to support Voss. And Voss was very much still supported by the club.

Dimma is considering apparently.

What exactly IS a Director of footy’s role anyway?

I dont believe it.

So, in less than 24 hours, before the players are eyeballed by the coach one last time, Hardwick has been in conversation with carlton.

I know, he had the long conversation and beer with Gale after Jack let him down. There was no agenda planned, nor a tile limit on that meeting, but someone from Carlton, like the Pope, got on the hotline to Dimma.

I reckon after a coupla sherbs he went home to his new girl, relaxed and content he can have that rest, went to bed and sleep soundly on a soft pillow not having to think of the tactics for the next game.

Something’s happened and it seems like the players are all playing scared.

They are fearing making a mistake and lack confidence in their teammates and themselves.

This is a coaching issue. The list has talent. I don’t think it’s being coached well from a mental perspective.

I don’t think it helps that there is no selection integrity and the players see and hear the favouritism that is going on. That stuff is fatal in creating a team first culture.

I have serious concerns.

Why are they playing with fear of making mistakes if the absence of selection integrity means they won't be dropped?

You're traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind. A journey into a wondrous land whose boundaries are that of imagination. That's the signpost up ahead - your next stop, the Twilight Zone!

Surely if you're burnt out from coaching, you're not gonna take a role at a club with an even more rabid and success starved fan base than the one you just left.

Lest they end up with their papers permanently stamped.
