if anyone can go some of the way to understanding why the lions are so dominant on the gabba & mitigating some of that advantage, it's voss.

the gabba is really round, but really wide. i think teams who play the flanks struggle with the roundness, and there's so much space thru the corridor that visiting teams cannot adjust to in just a few qtrs of football.

voss has as much chance as anyone to unlock the gabba for us. and for them ... undefeated at home for the year. that's some real pressure to manage if we can be close enough in the 4th.

We have overcome all obstacles in front of us. GWS we rested key players and put the cue in the rack after leading and Charlie scoring the Coleman goal.

This is the biggest challenge for the year for the players.

Boys have exceeded our expectations and club goals, but this team has a lot to play for; they said from the outset they have a job to do and not making up the numbers.

This is where reputations are made, and team focus at its peak.

Can we be the only team to beat the Lions at the Gabba this year? Why not!

Hello footy gods. We've taken our medicine.

Did I hear correctly? The players get 10 weeks off?
That would make it around early/ mid December when they are due back.

Yes but they all have individual fitness programs throughout the break to ensure they should return in top condition. It's more around a mental break from needing to be at the club every day. Then Russell can smash them.

Made me want to do star jumps or something, I feel like I'm letting the side down just sitting here!

Would rather give him for free to the swans than to St Kilda.

Hope he chooses Sydney.

:yikes: perhaps just do star jumps in your mind then Tommi. Voss insists you do 50. And really MEAN it!
Be mindful and stuff.
It's the thought that counts!
Camonnn!

Michael Voss is set to be rewarded with a new contract in the coming weeks as Carlton sets itself for a run at a drought-breaking premiership.

A two-year extension for Voss is seen as a priority at Ikon Park, with talks on a fresh deal set to ramp up after Blues chiefs return from their Christmas break.

A two-year deal seems fine given that's what I think our premiership window is. If a flag isn't won before the end of 2026, start over.

"Start Over" - does that mean "sack the coach "..... again....?

I don't necessarily disagree with what you posted, but I'm also conscious of another knee jerk reaction from our club. But its hard to really make a confident statement around this as none of us know what our results will be over the next two years....

FWIW - I think we can win the cup in 2024 :)

I tend to agree. We may do a Geelong and win a premiership with a team made up of a lot of geriatrics, but unlikely. It's a flag in the next three seasons or.... Ah jeez, I don't want to think about another rebuild without winning a flag. C'mon Blues, I'm not getting any younger.

Wasn’t it Geelong that did a Carlton?

He's out of contract end of the year isn't he?

This would create stability, avoid a media circus if we have another average start and at 2 years I think it strikes a healthy balance for each party.

55% win rate for Voss - best since Parkin. He's shown he can coach enough to warrant an extension.
