We had ten players out from when we last played them.

That's not an excuse, just a fact.

He still got out coached though, didn't adapt.

they were missing de goey and mitchell. statistically on the year and last, their two best ballwinning and clearance mids.

yet the pies came out and bashed us and beat us at our own game - stoppage dominance and clearance and scoring from stoppage etc - minus their two best clearance players.

i hope i typed that slow enough for you, and you are now able to follow the pace of the thread, mate.

You said "missing their 2 best mids", you know this is incorrect

You rate them both higher than Pendlebury?

Reading articles on their best mids doesn't help either of us

yeah, pendlebury has moments, but his best is past. his first 4 games this season, pies fans wanted him to retire.

Carlton talked about from around 18 minutes in.

Hoyne "Boyd's ball use out of D50 miles ahead of any other player in the competition"

4 of the last 5 premiers ranked #1 scoring from defensive 50.

Carlton currently 12th for the season.

Last 5 weeks 15th.

boyd's a ripper imo. tough, and hard and that kick, off either feet. i'm glad he's ours.

his best is when saad is rebounding hard and defences kind of take their eyes off him.

Yes , creeps under the radar . Only a matter of time before opposition wake up and put more work into him . Got a feeling Goodwin ( who is tactics savvy ) will test him this week . Soon as he gets the tag Vossy , chuck him forward coz no matter where he plays he will do well . Getting close in importance to the Tigers Baker that how much I Tate him coz the Tigers Baker is a gun who can play anywhere and impact .

yeah, that snap goal from 45 m off a side step had me thinking the same. he can play anywhere and do a job.

we're up a tall, and down a runner against every team we play. and losing cerra seemed to stop our run and pressure and spread dead.

spot on Braithy. but who do we drop? i dont know about sydney's rucks aside from the collingwood and melbourne bloke, and pitto was pretty good tonight, as was tdk, and h and charlie are undroppable (??)

what we really need is less bloody injuries....

yeah, it's impossible to choose who you'd drop. i honestly think the team (and the system) in the first 4 rounds is better than this one.

I’d like to understand, do we go into defensive mode so early in quarters and games, due to lack of speed, run or fitness.
Just a real concern

Surrey, I think its all of what you say.

However two key issues for me right now.

Firstly, Lack of fitness - how many ffing soft tissue injuries can one team have with mr so called superstar as our fitness coach? SACK HIM NOW!

Secondly, seeing Vossy sitting on the boundary with his hands clenched, seething, but looking like a dear in headlights for most of - if not all of the last quarter and seemingly doing nothing? WTF is going on there?

Yeah, I feel much better when I see the coach shouting, waving his hands around or doing somersaults.
He may have been ok with where the players were but not what they were doing - there’s only so much a coach can do sometimes.
