Maybe the potential loss of half our members might be the kick up the backside this club needs to change the culture. Can’t see us having 80 k members next year after the shit , mess and disaster this year has been. Having said that I’ll stay loyal and renew mine and hold onto hope that things will come good.

Given the impacts of lockdown again I wouldn’t be surprised if they do the 2 for 1/free membership deals again to fudge the numbers another season

Nah for me it was Hawthorn in 2015 & losing by 138 points

I remember sitting there with a couple of mates and going through the list working out who could come into the team to improve us.
We came up with 3 names - one of them was Troy Menzel. I am not exactly sure but I think Gibbs was out as well & that was about it. The cupboard was well and truly bare my friends.

At least yesterday we showed something for 1.5 qtrs and can point to 8-9 guys who could potentially improve us.
The 2015 Hawks game was ground zero shit.

I thought lower points included bottoming out under Madhouse when he had been brought in to get us over the last hump, and the last months of Bolton when we looked completely bereft of ideas in the 4th year of our rebuild. It's a shit moment but hard to read too much into end of season results. This has been a poor season but not without some rays of sunshine. Obviously we need to move on from several club personnel, but we have some pieces in place. I think.

Unprofessional going public with a review. As challenged Teague has been with his lack of experience the board has set him up for failure these last 2 months. We’ve left him hang out to dry. Regardless of whether he is the right man, the boards public process has been a disgrace. Complete lack of integrity.

I can't agree. Does anyone actually believe we could implement a review using external participants and keep it quiet? :?
We were better being open and transparent with our intentions.

I for one was rapt that the review has been public and even a little messy...it will hold us much much more to account

Sorry to disagree with LB above but I am sick and tired of all this empathy for DT...Call me heartless, call me anything but nobody put a gun to his head when the job was offered to him. He was told he would just be an interim coach so he should've been reflective enough to examine his own skillsets etc. and possibly realise he needed to develop further before embarking

He took a chance and and he has been found wanting...big time...you make your bed, you lie in it

I don' know what his personal tragedies have been but I hope his life can turn around from those. Good luck with future endeavours but you were never, never, never the right person to replace Bolton

Not defending Teague at all. Don’t care if he is the right bloke or not.

My point on lack of professionalism - since the announcement the only person who has responded to questions on process and possible outcomes is Teague. Poor leadership and suggests he has been set up.
As the initiator the board should have fronted the media given the attention it received.

I believe what we witnessed last night was a team amd club running scared.

I have really come around to this scenario .. where the boards actions have caused the current issues facing the club

I think the pressure the board has put the club under is immense and lead to the disaster that was yesterday.

They have more to answer than the coach or players now. Replacing the coach unless it's clarkspn isn't going to change anything ...

Since the mid '60s I have paid my dues and have been a Carlton social club member; AFL/Carlton member; Carlton member. Nearly 55 years.

I will pay next year but could someone tell me why I am inflicting this torture on myself.

And I can't even go to the footy.

As much as the result yesterday was shithouse, I think it's just the realisation that, as others have pointed out, we've been sold bullshit and as a collective, for the most part, we lapped it up. We thought we were on the right track.

Now we embark on a new era but we hardly know anything about our new leader, Luke Sayers. He's come in and disrupted before he's even in the chair. Is he the disruption we needed? I guess time will tell.

Assuming Teague is gone, we start again with a new president and a new coach. I'd like to hear from Sayers given this review is apparently his.

I'd like to think we're better off than we were 6 years ago, or even 2 years ago but I honestly have no idea. I have no confidence in the club to get it right and all I can see is more wasted careers for talented players that had the misfortune to find themselves at CFC

Of course the salt in the wound is the drug cheats going past us and into the finals, basically in the exact style that Teague had envisaged

Yup agree with you wholeheartedly, and I envy 3 or 4 ripper youngsters they got themselves in last year's draft too, instead we've got gaps to fill all over the place. Luke Sayers has a difficult mission , ain't gonna be easy turning us around.

The board is just too lackadaisical (a few are billionaires how connected can they be?) just like the players they lack intensity, lets hope, Mr Sayers goes in hard early to bring change.

Yes a crisp reality check would reconnect a few swollen heads , and bring them right back to the ground, the 80,000+ figure has gone to their heads.
Let’s see developments in the next few weeks.
