Wouldn’t be surprised.

I have given this some thought and I think Fev's effort at the Brownlow tops last weekend.

Not yet - from next week. They did a deal with the Essendon* board who planned to take holidays after round 22 and through September on the basis they wouldn't be needed around then and indeed might be best out of contact for the supporter backlash. When they realised they might be needed our board saw the opportunity to get the heck out of Dodge and get a cheap holiday to boot. Not bad thinking, but I understand they ended up overpaying ... AGAIN!

We finish bottom 6 and and a young Essendon* team play finals.
It doesn't get much worse.

What’s sadder is that few if any of our players would comprehend why this is particularly galling for us.

Wouldn’t it be good if we watched Carlton play and know they were going to turn up and give their all
Wouldn’t it be nice to go to the football knowing your side would get the job done against teams they should beat rather sitting there. Nervously hoping they will or not feeling that any lead we get is not insurmountable for the opposition
That’s what I want

Essendon* have a gun midfield with a healthy list only Hurley is missing.

They have built continuity and cohesion right time of year.

Andrew McGrath missed 8 games. Shiel missed 15. Sam Draper missed 10 games

Darcy Parish averaged 19 possessions per game last year. This year he averages 30 and is a star.
The coaches job is also to develop and to provide a sustainable system. Not to wait for the players to progress themselves or someone to magically sprinkle fairy dust on them.

I am aware - they had injuries won and lost games like everyone else. But timed their run well... they are no better or worse than us imo.

If we were in the same boat with continuity and cohesion even for five games I am more the confident we would beat them.

I thought you said we don't have a midfield other than Cripps, who doesn't run hard defensively, and the superstar Walsh, who can do everything, except cover for the other 2 mids

This Essendon* vs Carlton comparison is emotive rubbish our sour fans throw out every year for more reasons to sack coaches but the simple truth is, the started a recovery strategy with bomber, who was replaced by Woodhaven who spent 4 or 5 years weathering the storm to handover to rutten to achieve minimal disruption. Add the hangover of peptides to a few, and you have a team on the up again because they didn't scorch the earth and start from scratch.

Whilst this was happening we went from malthouse into Barker into Bolton into Teague with wild changing game plans, recruiters, list managers, coaches, ceos, presidents etc.

The terms too many cokks spoil the broth comes to mind and so it should because we play like a team that has had 4 senior coaches in 10 years because thats exactly what's forking happened.

Win/loss record and percentage would suggest otherwise.

They're showing what sort of turnaround you can have when you go from shite coach to good.

Incorrect. Woosha handed over to rutten and this isn't solely coaching its a strategy they enacted from president down. Dodoro has been setting this up for years and they aren't that young.

Which part of cohesion and continuity is hard to understand
