Good team. Pressure is on to perform against a very average opposition. And hopefully win well.
Interestingly, although we've copped a lot of criticism, form wise, we've won three of our past five games. More than any other team outside the top 6.

Good to see Honey and LOB keep their spots.... Gov, Murph and Levi will need to earn it also good to see.

Was also good to see Owies get a good run at it. Showed us what he's got which is good but not going to win games for us. Like that he busted a gut and gave his all & no shame in his performances as a Cat B rookie.

Good team. Glad TDK is right to go. Glad LOB, Honey, and Williamson retain their spot after promising games.

Eddie for Owies is the obvious change. Really like Owies but his form has been down and Eddie is a more dangerous option at this point in time.

Really hope to see SPS and Kemp banging the door down

Our strongest side selected this year.
Hopefully the boys bring the required intensity.

Good observation Humpers.
Therefore the team should show our best.

Our forwardline should be better with Charlie getting one game under his belt, and Honey getting a feel for AFL level.

Out injured from our best 22 imo are:

Pittonet.........covered by Kennedy, debatable
Marchbank.....covered by Williamson
Williams........covered by Newman
Docherty.......covered by Newnes
Cuningham....covered by Honey

Setterfield has become a fringe player.

No excuses, agree, this is the best team we've fielded this year.

Yeah one of the first to go when we get a few back. Newman not far off in my book either. Ideally SPS, Kemp, Williams, Docherty, Fogarty, Cunners, Gov etc will force these guys out next year. Philp, Ramsay, Carroll will overtake them soon too.

You continue to make disparaging comments about Newnes, even when Newnes has played well and better than a few others selected who make more mistakes than Newnes.

Those other players must be your favourites, and naming Newnes as the weakest link is probably deflecting attention from ... well have a look at our bench, and our emergencies; they're right before your eyes.

I thought Newnes played his best games and was one of our best in round 1 and 2, when we needed the stars to stand up, and I'm not a Newnes fan, but he has shown good form last few games and also ahead of those on the interchange too.

He wont be in our next Premiership team, but he deserves his spot in the first 18 this week imo.

We're looking a better side minus Cotterell, Levi, SPS, Setters, Gibbons

I think Newnes, right this minute is ahead of all those you mention other than Williams, Docherty, Philp, and Cuningham, if they were fit. I'm talking this round.

There's good reason why SPS and Gov are not playing this week, and its not to do with fitness.

But if Newnes was dropped to give Kemp a go, I'd be all for it, but not on the wing. Therefore, I would find it disappointing if other players selected this week were not making way for Kemp before Newnes, based on form shown in the last 4 weeks.

I hope when the best of the injured return, Carroll, Ramsay, Kemp and Philp take over Newnes, and Williamson, and OBrien, and Curnow, and Newman, and Kennedy, and Fisher.

Unfortunately we are cursed by injury, hence Newnes and others are playing this week.

Bull dust Bondi. He is a turn over merchant who cost goals continuously. You obviously don’t watch close enough. As for the bench, I would have SpS in my side without blinking instead of Newnes and he would add goals. A fit Casboult .... you bet. Murphy is a champ of our club!!!! Disgraceful supporters don’t get it.

I agree with you ck on all those apart from maybe SPS if he could get his act together. He could so easily replace Williamson who really is not showing much.

SPS teases without putting it together.

I have seen nothing from McGovern to think he will improve our side…

This week. Next week I reckon he starts on the ground in his 300th.
OR if we beat GC and they think we are a shot of beating Port sans Murphy, he’ll get a mysterious 1 week injury so he can start on the ground the following week.
(Might get tricky if we beat GC and Port and we’re still a chance for the finals…)

Hey Surrey Blue, if there's one poster I've always wanted to meet in Melbourne its you. Always thought you were cool and passionate and fun.

This is uncool.

All I'm saying is, IMO Newne's not the first to go, based on the last 4 rounds of footy. I have others ahead of him, that's all.

Its just an opinion, and I'm not a disgraceful supporter. That's an awful thing to say to any Carlton supporter, unless of course they are racist, vile, sexist or abusive.

Have a re read of the last sentence. You're dishing out abuse because I have a different order of players than you for the first out? This isn't fun.

..and I don't get the connection to the post re a "fit Casboult", and "Murphy is a club champion"...you're frothing from the mouth for no reason...is that directed at me?

I'd love a fit Casboult. I'm happy to get Murphy to 300. I've made a point to posters to cool it on Murphy. Have a look at the Players thread. I remember fish stranded on 99. I didn't like it one bit. One game.

Are you alright mate?
