Zac Williams handed a one-match ban by the Match Review. Will have to wait for his Carlton debut. @AFLcomau

It is what it is, i suppose.

But surely with the player getting straight up and playing out the game, it should be downgraded to low impact

As soon as the same thing happens to a player from club the media likes it will be. Tribunal by media

Hope we appeal

Hope we just move on quickly - it will take a team effort to beat Richmond. Feel for Zac; his adrenaline would have been sky high in the opening seconds against St Kilda.

Head high medium impact is 1 week every day of the week - lets just move on and look forward to the match.

Agree. If it was Simmo lying on the ground and a bombers player was given a fine, I would be cheesed off....

Another year of coming into round 1 with a host of key injuries, and add a suspension to boot.

And people think Hollywood is in most need of new material.

We can never get them , when we have a full list to pick from and I still don’t know why McKay played last week ,

I hope he is ready to go and he isn’t getting jabbed in his ankle to get thru ...

I don't even especially care if we lose this one. But I'll lose my shit again if we get blown out early (let's say 7 goal lead) and then pull it back to a 'respectable' three goal loss once the game is done.

Was just about to write the same thing. Realistically, I don't think we'll win but if we don't come ready to play from the opening bounce, I will totally lose it.

The holy grail we're all still searching for: a no BS, 4 quarter effort, siren to siren.

The W would be nice but the above is the non-negotiable, and the dream.

I dare to dream.

Williams is an assett and will be missed.

Hoping the boys all pull together and know its up them to turn the tables on the Tiggers and make a stand.

We have to win the hard ball and connect, not bomb it.

I prefer dirty balls kicked to our smalls than bombing it: Betts, Martin, Murphy, Fisher are good rnough and quick enough to cause chaos. Add Silvagni and I can see us putting enough pressure to kick a winning score.

Its time.

Carlton will challenge the verdict to Williams.

Argue Medium to Low Impact.

I didn't like it when Ablett got off twice with his feet leaving the ground with an elbow raised into the neck and to the head, but he got off.

Williams had his arm tucked in.

Good luck.

I think we can surprise them and win it. And then we and everyone else will re-set expectations for the year!
Dow will step up and will need to if we are to cover for Williams.
Our mids will need to apply max pressure on their I50 entries to help our backline.

Our ruck is a weakness but it isn't a strength for them.
We need to lock down on Lynch (no easy goals or free kicks please!), put Ed onto Dusty FROM THE BEGINNING, and our forward need to spread their backline.

Good news, AFL should be asking St Kilda as to why they waited till after the game to concussion test the player.

With how things go for us I now expect Zac to be suspended for rd 2 as well.

He got off because he's an Ablett and played for Geelong and GC.

Worse possible scenario . Tribunal will ask for a please explain why Williams left the ground and hit a defenceless player in the head.

Kudos for challenging but think of Zac too. He has probably dreamt all his life to play in front of big crowds against Richmond and Collingwood.

Getting rubbed out for both would be unfair to him. Hope the challenge sticks though.

He's only been suspended for 1 match. Even with the challenge, it won't become two.
