The other night on the couch, someone had a go at the umpires in one game or a series of incidents. i can't remember which but there was a collective inhalation of breath from the panel followed by Jon Brown saying something like,
"We all know what a hard game this is to umpire and the umpires do a great job."
They are beyond criticism because they are so hard to recruit. I understand that but they have to be accountable to somebody.
I am not suggesting we are losing because of them. I am suggesting we are losing because we have no idea how to play footy in these conditions. The frees in front of goal; don't help.
