Big question if Simpson announces his retirement for a final round farewell, at The Gabba? or, announces it after the game? or continues on another year? My guess is this week will be his last |

What about Betts? He does have this aura about him and he does put on pressure, in the hardest spot on the ground. Do we have anyone who can fill his shoes other than Papley? I'm happy with Fisher in the FP/ mid and/ or SPS |

True, and there were times he looks like, or hints that he's lost a yard. I don't care either way. I just don't think he will be any good in the second half of 2021. |

Cripps' "we're back" reinforces to me that he is not a captain's shoelace. Give the captaincy to Doc next year and let Cripps just get back to playing well I know some may think that wishing Carlton loses is treason, but that's how I feel...The entire club needs to feel the heat over the summer The captaincy should have been given to Simpson many years ago but even that we stuffed up. |

I'm happy with Fisher in the FP/ mid and/ or SPS Plenty of kids in the draft if we want a small forward, or give some of the kids time to shine, Honey, Owies, Phillips etc. We really need to move forward. Ed will still be around the club as a mentor. As for Simmo, he has been a great club man, but his form has dropped off a lot this year. Time for some others to take us forward. With Kemp back, he will most likely start at half back, Newman is back, Marchbank is back too. Willo has a good first year back from his back problems, and showed plenty, although inconsistent. |

Ramsey is one who is touted as able to play as a small defender. If his performances and effort at all warrant it I would be happy for him to be given a taste this week. |

Out: Docherty and McGovern In: Kennedy and Owies Newness my moves to defence, Gibbons and Cuningham into the midfield/wing and Owies into the fwd line. Kennedy also into the fwd line and can rotate through the middle. I’d like to see Owies and Eddie play together. I’m sure Eddie will announce his retirement before the game. |

Would love to see what this kid has got. Small defender? I know he's an attacking half back with speed, good skills and wins his own ball. Do it! |

Alll SOS picks. We're going nowhere with any of them, apparently. |

I knew our record in the final round has been disgraceful even in those few years we were above average, but that is truly depressing reading. The fact that our players check out early every single year is a joke. |

Teague was diplomatic but you could see he was seething deep down the way he said a couple of things. Hope that exploded out in private. |

It seems unfortunately appropriate that Simpson's last game for us is likely to be a thrashing. He's spent his whole career 'deserving better', so why change the script now. |
