Not sure what would be funnier, making them this year at the expense of Essendon* or making them in 2013 at the expense of Essendon*

Been on the predictor. If the Dogs, Giants and Dees lose one then we have to beat Adelaide well, a close win won't likely do, and Brisbane (ouch...good luck) and we get in. We need to get the percentage to around 102%. Then we get a trip to Perth.....oh yay.

Tough ask but it's good that we are somehow still playing for a finals spot 2nd last match. Somehow keep hanging in. We should be near entrenched but hope we learn from that.

We can beat Brisbane.

I have a good feeling bout that game too SB.

Possibly Simmo's last game

Outside chance to get into the finals or results in round 16 may have a papers stamped.

Pennt drops on 4 qtr effort.

Teague picks a team in form.

TDK has his break through game

Reading jim's post re Bradbury above motivated me too.

Our defence can hold Brisbane's attack I reckon. Not that I'm getting ahead of myself or anything

Absolutely.
Now they are motivated to beat GWS next week as we'll need them to do.

We basically need to win our final two games, and for Collingwood & Melbourne to lose theirs.

We need a miracle.

We need no more than one of Collingwood, Melbourne, GWS & Bulldogs to win both their games.

Good effort at portraying it more pithily guys.

However, in consideration of the detail I posted here...

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=36993&start=83

...the more accurate one-line representation would be that we need EACH of Melb, GWS, Footscray to lose ONE each and to have a 2nd bite at the cherry - Collingwood to lose both.

Sadly for us, whichever of those first three wins twice gets in and we don't.

Thanks for being such a realistic optimist CC1961. Sounds all very straight forward to me.
Who will we be playing in the first week of the finals again? :garthp:

I just KNOW you're being cheeky...

However - 1st week finals, sadly Richmond unless they win tonight, in which case WC.

shudder... a trip to Perth?

BUT, if the plan goes OK AND Collingwood loses both - we'll be 7th playing St.Kilda 6th.

I like that option better!

Love your work CC1961. Saves us all trying to get our head around all the permutations.
I hope you will be able to say “I predicted this”
(When we make the 2020 finals)

Thanks mate.

My head is just full of all sorts of crap - stuff like this just kind of ooozes out.

Coz, I'm a never-say-die until Mad-Monday lifelong Carlton tragic.

and i REMEMBER when we were better than this!

We crept in back in 1945 and pulled it off - time enough to do it again.

For this week at least it's in our own hands because us losing to Adelaide is the only result which puts it out of reach before next week

GWS to win by the slimmest possible margin keeps them in % range for us.
(They are +11 points, we are -28)
Hence we need to really belt Adelaide for a change)

We'll need St.Kilda to beat them next week - they have incentive now after losing to WC.
That match is Friday night so we'll know where we stand with them before we play Brisbane.

Melbourne winning is I believe the worse alternative as we'd have to pray for Essendon* to beat them the following week.
One way or the other they both have to lose one game.

It's a case of who we think we can count on more - St.Kilda or Essendon* - I know, Shit choice.
