Here is the simplest formula:

1. All higher positioned teams on ladder win All games

2. Except these three games:

Rd. 17
Melbourne d GWS
Gold Coast d Collingwood
Rd. 18
Carlton d Brisbane

3. Percentage
Assumes all margins are 10 points except Carlton v Sydney & Adelaide - must win by 20 each.

There are other paths, even to rise as high as 6th (!), but this is the most straightforward and possible.

Thx SB.

Ha. 'reverse psychology'?

other issue is if no-one thinks it's possible they waste the opportunity by playing around with selections etc.

That's the Conundrum.

We need to see players under consideration.
We don't know the size of 2021 list.

Whilst I want to see Dow and co. develop their game in the last 3 rounds to show their wares
Increase their value for a spot or for trade, let alone development.

We've done enough gifting games.

We should Play to win.

Might get in, might JUST miss out. If we try, we can win.
Our 2020 story will be a good one and a destination club; a team on the rise.

I wish.

Why do you think I picked the name. I can't waterski, either.

Just in case anyone wants to know the real Teddy was a better waterskier than a footballer.

I have never been more frustrated in my life as I was after the GWS loss. So I get why you would feel that. But we lost to Port after the siren who are above Brisbane on the ladder and beat Geelong who one win below Brisbane. This season sux because for the first time in a long time we can actually realistically win against anybody.

I absolutely agree. It's why i am here.
I was so gutted after the Collingwood loss for similar reasons that I went on line looking for somewhere to vent and/or seek like-minded thoughts/feelings and found this wonderful site.

Despite my criticisms, I am a perpetual optimist and yes - I firmly believe that we can no longer blame an inadequate list and the "need to build" etc.

Carlton have proved this year that they can beat anyone else and particularly THIS year with the pandemic creating such a level playing field for All clubs it would be a totally wasted opportunity if we didn't make the 8.

re my final comment on the opening post...

"There are other paths, even to rise as high as 6th (!), but this is the most straightforward and possible."

Let's all root hard for Hawthorn this arvo as a win over St.Kilda helps to open up one of those other paths.

Max King a late out, that helps. But this is a Hawks team that got belted by Adelaide so I won't get too excited.

How in blazes did we lose to those Poo-Coloured clowns?

All tease and no delivery. What a waste of an afternoon.

Plan B. options closing.
need GWS and Melbourne to lose 2 each.

I really don't want to be dependent on GC beating Collingwood.

but ya neva know.
