I dont think Collingwood are on the ropes just slightly out of form - if we bring our A game it should be a good tight contest.

Is it on ch7?

Pies will enjoy a 6 day break after their game on Monday night.
Carlton coming off a 9 day break after a energy sapping but bruise free game (SPS copped a hit)

Lets hope that Rhys Shaw has his charges breathing fire on Monday night and give the Pies a belting.
North are close to a win. Fingers crossed.

Sidebottom may play on Monday night but will miss the Sunday game against The Blues to be at the birth of his first child in Melbourne.

The footy gods are on our side. I feel blessed to be a Carlton supporter.

Don't underestimate how big Sidebottom not playing is. He is the player we always tag when we play them. Huge out and we need to capitalise on this.

SPS shoulder looked sore but nothing sinister

I expect Kennedy and Cuningham to be fit for selection, but they are no certainties to be selected after the great team performance.

For me the 33 point win (which should have been 70 point win) vs GCS was our best team performance thus far, just a bit better than the Doggies 52 pt win.

I guess that the MC will ask questions about 2 rucks and therefore Pittonet, and SPS' form in the backline.

Polson must be on the radar, but the Ressies Report will give us a better clue who is pushing their case for selection.

Its a 9 day break, so I don't see this week being the first game we see the rotations to rest.

The way the draw had worked out is very kind to us. Much longer breaks than Suns and Pies although with more travel. Giants have one more day rest than us. Swans and Crows have the same breaks, but both have to travel, from Cairns and Adelaide. Couldn’t really hope for any more.

Samo looked a bit battered and sore. A spell wouldn't hurt him them straight back in hopefully up the ground a bit.

Cunners Dow and Polson might add a bit of pace and run.

I really don’t get the calls for Polson to come in.
He has been tried several times over a few years and I have not been convinced at all. And every time he gets dropped for being very ordinary, he magically gains traction whilst not playing.

And as soon as Murphy fluffs a tackle there are calls to drop him!
And to replace SPS with Polson?? How about SPS learns to tough it out and work through his average form. He will be learning a hell of a lot at half back - either to improve him as a half back player, or as training for when he goes into the midfield (Kouta spent a season at half back before he went into the middle...).

Having said that, it will be interesting to see how Andrew Russell and co approach the coming frenzy. The Saints took a hit in one of their matches in order to shore up the others. I wonder if we’ll do the same, GWS match to rest a few and keep them a bit fresher for the subsequent Sydney and Adelaide matches. It will help a lot if we can beat the Pies...

Filth Players who will miss Carlton game due to injury

Best 22

Jeremy Howe

Adam Treloar
Steele Sidebottom
Jordan DeGoey
Braydon Siers
Dayne Beams

Peripheral Players

Ben Reid

Lets hope they add a couple of bruised and battered names to the above lists.

Jeremy Howe really stuffs their backline missing his incredible intercept marking and sweeping role

The midfielders missing are all A Graders

DeGoey missing from the forwardline means their most dangerous forward / mid reduces their goal kicking ability

I expect Cox to return to their side at FF to help out Mihocek (who could still have lingering effects of his concussion last week)

OUT: Casboult (rested) Simpson (rested)

IN: Kennedy, Dow

Cripps plays 90% forward in Casboult's absence.
Kennedy & Dow pick up the slack in the middle.
TDK and Pitto rotate through the ruck and the forward line.
We still play three talls up forward: Pitto / TDK, Cripps, McKay - with Fisher, Martin, Betts and Gibbons at their feet.
Newnes goes into the backline to replace Simpson.

(Against GWS it's IN: Casboult, Simpson, Cunningham, OUT: Murphy, Curnow, TDK - with Cripps back to the centre.)

What's Cox's record like against us? In theory Jones is the perfect opponent for negating his one strength.

Never going to happen. I know Geelong does this with Dangerfield but he is actually good at kicking and creating goals.

Agree.
Against the coasters Casboult had the least influence and could use a rest.
This also gives us a look at an alternative forward line where TDK is meant to have forward craft.
Plus 2 rucks against Grundy couldn't hurt.
And Dow finally gets a game to see if he really has improved. Or O'Brien or Honey etc.

I know he's an awful kick for goal, but he's just gotta keep doing it until it clicks.

I don’t think the right time to rest players is after a nine day break when we’ve just won two in a row.

Danger’s set shot goal kicking is very poor too. I think I saw a stat that had him behind Cripps for accuracy.

Levi is in poor form anyway and a rest is a soft form of drop.

I'd rather he practice at training than against the filth :)

That's surprising, he always seems good when I watch him, maybe my perspective is skewed because I want him to fail so damned much.

Must win to keep the year on track. Besides head to head it's 127 to 126. Totally unacceptable to let them square the ledger
