Over 48 hours later and I still can’t believe he kicked it. And I was there.

Murphy is in our best team at the moment, when that changes I'll be sure to let you know.

If he was in his 20s he wouldn't even be a discussion point.

I appreciate that he is approaching the end, but I still feel very positive when he has the ball.

Stop equating that he is holding up and coming players back. There will always be room to bring in those that deserve it.

While we are playing for a higher ladder position there must be a balance between youth and experience.

Dow was in his teens and he was being derided for his poor disposal...
Murphy is on the fringe of the best 22. If he kicks or handballs it to a contest it's an effective possession. If he duffs the kick or handball to it goes within reach of our player, even if it's behind him or a bump ball, it's an effective possession.
You are right. He is in our best 22 based on the last couple of weeks on possessions gathered but he had a run of shockers a few weeks back that had to be called out. Same with Eddie. We all love Eddie but he is in the team based on his pressure acts alone. Not good enough.
Ratts dropped Polec after he was BOG two weeks earlier. Caddy got dropped for giving away a 50 metre penalty. There's your difference right there. Ruthless v feel good.

How did Ratts drop Polec?

Left hook?
Sorry. Rys.
Thanks for reading it at least.

I love the way we broke our horror run of after the siren goals, by kicking the actual greatest after the siren winner ever. Better than Blight's.

I despise the footy fan wall thing that 7 persist with, but that goal would have been the one time that it would have been of interest.

That clip with the 4 different commentaries just goes to show how absolutely awful footy commentary is in 2020.

I have a deaf guy at work, who reads lips

Unfortunately he couldnt make out the whole sentence.

camera didnt pick up everything and Eddie tackling him didnt help.

Looks like "On the money", but thats a huge guess on his part.

Brayshaw's was great. He is a good commentator. Like Dwayne, at least you know he is excited to be there

How flat was Richo on the 7 commentary...

JB's self love is incredible but not the worst footy caller.

Don't think so unfortunately.

Blight kicked 3 or maybe 4 goals in the last quarter with a hard tag by a reasonable player in Mark Maclure. He beat the blues all on his lonesome.

Maybe its just because as usual I was there standing in the Social Club and watched the bloody ball sail over my head.

I wasn't much more than a kid and still get the shivers.

Oh I never knew that. What a player

Anyway some good stats here:

Quote:
After producing the most tackles of any team in a single game against West Coast, Carlton backed it up with its second-best performance of the year with 68 tackles.

If you have a look at the pics you will see that Eddie, who knows the flight of the ball through the air probably better than anybody atm, knew before Newnes that it was going through.

After quarter time we were the better team in general play
Poor conditions and poor game overall though

Free wasn’t there and It was Gibbons not Newnes should have taken it

The rub of the green evens itself out over a season even a shortened one
This one directly gave us a one in the win column

Play tdk in the ruck for the rest of the year
He gets to play on Witts next week. Different opponents
All new experiences

Cottrell looks a beauty. Another example of rookies who can be later developer’s

Walsh was fantastic. Getting better as the year rolls on.
Midfield is not good enough . Doesn’t bat deep enough
Dare I say it
Setterfield and Kennedy arnt good enough to play there

Murphy another soft 20 something possessions game
Simmo cooked as is Betts

Play some newbies instead of the old 3.
Won’t happen but should

Owies I would hope at least gets a game by the end of the year

I prefer winning!

It was freakish, the steal.
Willo did look up before a split second.
Didn't look good in slow motion.
Happened so quick no one saw Fyfe coming

I think it was simply a matter of Willo not bodylining the ball whereas Fyfe did....

I agree. A coaching opportunity to remind him to protect the ball. He only needed to turn slightly and Fyfe would have had to run into him to get the ball.

So here's the thing. As we all know our last win with a kick after the siren was Sticks' in 87 against Norf.

What's funny about that match is that Norf kicked 19 goals 11...... 125 points. And they lost.

What's even funnier, we won the flag that year.
